They want money from my generation. Actually, from the preteens, because they love what is new. Personally, I like a mixture of classics and current releases. I agree that this situation isn't fair.

Which Prince and The Pauper are you talking about? I know the one starring Mickey, Donald, Goofy etc. is on Mickey In Living Color Volume 2. Of course thats if your talking about that one..other than that I have no clue and didn't know half of those existed until I read this topic

Lantern Hill, and all of the other Kevin Sullivan Productions (Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, the Avonlea Series, and Looking for Miracles) while they were considered "Disney Originals" here in the US on the Disney Channel, they actually originated on the Canadian Broadcasting Network. They can all be purchased on DVD in region 1 from the Sullivan Boutique.

Isn't money from somewhat older people good enough?

Mooncussers? - wouldn't that be moonspinners with Haley Mills?

and

One of our dinosaurs is missing (there is no leg) starring Peter Ustinov(sp?)- and Helen Hayes. I don't see this one coming out as it is pretty racial- but a clever plot, and a fun twist of an ending

Both have been released on VHS at one point or another.

One of Our Dinosaurs is Missing is out on Region 2 in the UK.

MOONCUSSERS starred Kevin Corcoran and...Oscar Homolka, I think. It was on the TV series here but was released theatrically in Europe.

I highly doubt any of those will see the light of a dvd release to the general public anytime soon. But perhaps as Disney Movie Club Exclusives who knows. I mean after all The Fighting Prince Of Donegal was released to the Disney Movie Club, and that had been out of print for 20 years, and was a rare collectors item. So who knows maybe some of these will get released that way.

I have actually been searching for a handful of these movies recently and picked up some AWESOME DVD bootlegs ("Polly", "Polly Comin' Home", "Double Switch", "Splash, Too", "Mr. Boogedy", "Beyond Withc Mountain"etc.)

Here is was I can gather about a few of these movies:

1. Mooncussers is NOT Moonspinners. It was a two part episode of the Wonderful World of Disney which was released theatrically in Europe. I know there is a PAL VHS, but I also want to say there was an NTSC VHS release as well.....I can't remember for certain, though.

2. One of Our Dinosaurs Was Missing does contain some stereotyping of asian people...and not in the best light. However, we did see the release of "The Adventures of Bullwhip Griffin", and there wasn't really any backlash from that so maybe it will one day see the light of day on DVD. It was most recently released here in the States by Anchor Bay on VHS. Just about 5-7 years ago.

3. Earth*Star Voyager was also released on PAL VHS, but never released on VHS here in the States. I haven't seen this one yet (my DVD is in the mail), so I can't say as to why this wouldn't be released except for the fact that it probably wouldn't make as much money as say "Princes Diaries 7". I do know that there is a pretty strong cult following from this 80s movie and I think if you search hard enough, you'll find a website devoted to all things Earth*Star.

4. I hope that we can see more of the VHS to DVD trend in the Disney Movie Club (of which I strongly encourage anyone with a desire for collectible Disney DVDs to join.....you only have to buy four, and they can all be the exclusives i.e. Zorro, Fighitng Prince of Donegal, Rob Roy, Ducktales the Movie, etc.). I hope we can see more like "Friendship in Vienna" and "Mother Goose Rock N' Rhyme" coming out on Disney Exclusive DVDs. I was super impressed by the release of The Fighting Prince of Donegal. I suspect we will see the release of "The Sword and the Rose" in the next month or two from the Disney Movie Club.

There are a few of the titles you listed that you will have a LOT of trouble finding. Ghost of Cypress Swamp and Strange Monster in Strawberry Cove I have NEVER heard of and cannot say as to ANY VHS or DVD release. The only way you will probably get to see them (until Disney does some sort of itunes download thing with their library of old Made for TV movies) will be to find someone who taped it off TV or something.

I would LOVE it if "Mother Goose Rock 'n Rhyme" came to DVD- I was obsessed with that movie when I was about 6 years old- Disney Channel used to play it all the time (my mom hadn't seen the whole thing, I don't believe, but I remember her saying to me one time I was watching it that it was inappropriate...it must have been when the Big Bad Wolf (?) came in or something...? But, it'd be awesome if they released that. And "The Monkey's Uncle".

There was a NTSC VHS release of Mooncussers. I had a copy of it in the old white clamshell style case. Amazon has several used copies.

Ghost of Cypress Swamp had a VHS release in the UK, but good look finding a copy.

Why isn't Disney releasing ANY old Live action DVDs this year? (or putting out ones that they said were going to be released but still haven't, such as So Dear to my Heart and Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow). Being Canadian, I can't join the Disney movie club so what am I going to do if they don't release them? Buy them from ebay? Or ship them overseas? I don't think so.

You could always ask a UD member who's also a member of the DMC to purchase you a copy.

Sorry if I'm dredging up an old topic.

Honestly, I would like to see Earth Star Voyager and Double Agent on DVD.

If they sold it in just the DMC, that's fine. Why aren't they released? Not even on VHS domestically in the US, where Earth Star Voyager originated, was it released on VHS. I've heard it was released in places in Europe on PAL VHS. :?

There are tons more, and it just makes me raise an eyebrow as to why. It's not profitable? :?

I know they are in the business to make money, but sometimes I feel there are other motives in their decisions that they aren't willing to make public. And you just can't speculate as to what they are. Still they do have a great range of movies available. Nothing to be gawked at. They are also very family oriented. I still say good job.
