ABC should make a mini-series about Walt Disney, similar to the Judy Garland one. Would be really interesting.

I think that's a great idea, Disneybuff1975! I wonder who would play Walt. I also wonder if ABC (or Disney in general) ever would make a miniseries (or movie, or whatever) about Walt.

If you mean like Me and My Shadow: Judy Garland, which I think is a wonderful film along with Chaplin...Then I agree course it'll be hard to find somebody who could bring justic to Walt's Story. Sure they could bring Roy E. Disney as an gudie to help the film. Not sure who could portray Walt's family especialy Roy O. Disney, but I'd defintly watch if Disney works very hard and truthfuly on their Founder's legacy.

What about the guy who imitated Walt on the featurette on the Peter Pan DVD about why Walt made Peter Pan?

This could be very moving. The excitement of Snow White's production could be included, the animators' strike, the initial failure of Fantasia, the opening of Disneyland, the filming of the Disneyland series, and Disney's death...and when he was dying in the hospital and wanted the curtains opened so he could take one last look of his studio outside the window.

Yeah, that guy would be great...if it were a radio drama. There's not exactly a face to attach to his voice in the featurette.

There is, though, a couple kids playing kid Walt in the featurette.

I'm not sure about this. There's been a few books and documentaries about Walt Disney, and there are all kinds of stories about him. Some suggesting he was a ruthless business man and was sexist and racist, and then of course there is the official line which presents the Uncle Walt image. I think the true Walt Disney is inevitably going to be somewhere in the middle. Disney are always going to present the kindly old Uncle image, and I think it's unlikely that a biopic would ever get authorised without Disney's involvement.

I think there remains quite a bit of mystique about the true man behind Walt Disney, he had such a strong public persona, and I believe the book I'm reading at the moment about Walt Disney - he is quoted as saying that person does not exist. But that is part of the magic of Walt Disney, and in some ways, I think any attempt to find out who Walt really was can sometimes chip away at the magic a bit. When I go to Walt Disney Studios at DLRP, and see the Walt Disney statue, I like to think of Walt Disney from the Disneyland TV shows, which is the Walt I know and love. That may not be the real Walt, but sometimes it's better not to know our heroes and heroines too deeply, because they can never live up to our expectations in real life.

Rambled on a bit there - hope you all understand what I'm getting at.

That sounds like a great concept, however I doubt it will ever happen unless they can get the rights to do his story. They would also need the right actors as a previous poster stated.

It would be great if it was made by Disney, and I would figure it would be if it were on ABC. I would love to see something like that. I really liked the one they did on the Three Stooges. Never saw the Judy Garland one, unfortunately. I saw the Audrey Hepburn one, and I found it interesting, though I'm not really an Audrey Hepburn fan. However, Jennifer Love Hewitt may have been what held my interest, ha.

I didn't know there were so many ABC mini-series. None of which I've seen, though. I would enjoy one about Walt, but I'm not sure they would do it beacuse I believe after Walt's death the family asked for no movies to be made of him (which a min-series is kinda like a movie) because they felt the parks were enough memory of him. But haven't they already made a documentary?
