What if Disney had made The Iron Giant?

Friday on Cartoon Network there will be an all day showing of The Iron Giant. IMHO this is the best animated film never made by Disney. Of course Warner Brothers screwed up the marketing of this classic and it was unjustly called a flop. I'd like to ask if Disney had made it, would have been a 100 million dollar classic?
P.S. if this is in the wrong spot please move it.

Lol, why don't you just edit your post

Anyway, I think it would have been a big hit yeah. Everyone knows that everything Disney sells will sell good. Even if it's not a good story or something. Ok, the number of items differ. But they are always sold, and a lot of them. It would have been a bigger hit at Disney. But I doubt that it would be THE Disney movie.

From the perception of the general public - I don't think it would matter. The amount of times I've heard or seen the Iron Giant referred to as a Disney film (sometimes from people who should know better - for example they write for DVD news websites etc) drives me insane.
So the question is really would Disney of promoted the film better? Most people would agree that The Iron Giant didn't have good promotion.
WHat if Disney had made the Iron Giant

If Disney had made the Iron Giant than it would have been a tons better film. And it would have had better marketing and it would have had more sales of the film.

Well I'm not sure it would be a tons better film. What do you think Disney would do to make it "better"? What do you think was wrong with the Warners version?
Would Disney of have the excellent idea to move the setting to 1950's America? Or would they of kept the action in 1960's England? (I guess they could of done this being as other Disney films are set in England). Would Disney of kept the original threat of a giant Space Bat? Or would they like Warners of decided the cold war parallels speak for themselves?
Nobody knows what Disney would of done if they did a film of the Iron Giant. Given that the Warners version differs from the original text considerably (often for the better), I think it would be fair to say a Disney Iron Giant would be different.
As for marketing. Well, the Disney marketing machine failed with Treasure Planet (for various related and unrelated reasons). While I agree Disney would be likely to promote the film better, you can't say if it would result in a better Box Office taking.

If Disney had made "The Iron Giant", "Lilo & Stitch" wouldn't exist.

I really liked it

Thought it was true to the movies. One of the best non disney animated movies ever.
It could have been improved by using the existing Pete Townsend/John Lee Hooker score from an earlier aborted attempt to make the movie.
