Went to the dentist today and found out I have the first cavity of my entire life.

So since I'm so depressed as my life feels like a failure, I decided to post and ask if anyone of you had cavities.

I've had 4; it's no big deal. First, they take a syringe and jab it into your gum (it doesn't hurt and some dentist put you under nitrogen dioxide before) making your jaw numb for about 5 hours. Then they take a drill and make a small hole in your tooth to get rid of the decay. Then they'll fill it with some kind of alloy and your done. Not a big deal at all.

This is your first cavity? Wow thats amazing. You must have awesome teeth or something...anyway I have so many cavitys...thats thanks to all that dang Dr.Pepper I drink. I need to go to the dentist to get them drilled and filled...

Don't feel bad, almost everyone gets a cavity and some point in their life. So that doesnt make you a failure.

Geez, Zoltack, you make it sound like it's fun.

I've gotten a few cavities in my life, and the only thing I can say is "the drugs are so cool."

Justin, just wait until the day you find you that they need to remove your wisdom teeth. The drugs for that are *awesome* 8)

(on the down side, since I've had my wisdom teeth removed, I can't bring myself to eat pudding since I had to eat it for a week and now associate pudding with the godawful taste of penicillin and saliva mixed together)

I've had two cavities and two semi-cavities (I don't know the proper terminology, but they were basically cavities in progress). Even though I hate going to the dentist, getting fillings isn't a big deal. I've had far more horrific experiences in dental land (such as getting a herbst, which is a metal bracket placed on your jaw to push it forward). Everybody gets cavities (well, except Willy Wonka and Mary Poppins, that is). It's nothing to be ashamed of. Heck, I currently have two more cavities that need to be filled, bringing my grand total to four (six if you include the in-progress ones that got filled). Yeah, I don't take very good care of my teeth.

I've had two cavities. My first one was about a year and a half or two years ago. I did have to be numbed for that one, and I still got uncomfortable from the pressure.

And as a matter of fact, I just had one this last Wednesday. It wasn't bad at all. I didn't even have to be numbed.

I just found out last month that I have a cavity for the first time, too, T/P Fan. I'm getting it filled on April 18. I'm pretty disappointed in myself, especially considering how much money it's going to cost my mom.

Escapay - Going to the dentist is fun back then but now... meh. I actually haven't been to the dentist in a while and fortunately I don't have to have my wisdom teeth pulled.

My friend had his wisdom teeth pulled and he told me they actually don't pull the whole tooth out. They break it into little fragments then pull the fragments out. ooch!!!

What do you call a doctor who failed out of medical school? A dentist. Ha, ha, ha!

Don't feel bad. I had cavities when I was younger. It was because I would eat white sugar straight out of the bag! It's not so bad.
