Disney's Tarzan - Edited!

I don't know if this has already been discussed here, but this has bugged me for quite some time. If you have the Collector's Edition of "Tarzan", check out the trailer #1 on the second disc. There is an extract from the scene of the fight between Tarzan and Kerchack, and it shows the gorilla throwing Tarzan against a log tree, and he gets hit on his back. Then, Tarzan falls to the ground.

Now, check out the film... The scene cuts from the scene when Kerchack throws Tarzan to the scene when he already is on the ground. The scene when he is hurt doesn't show up here.

Do you know if this edition was made for the home video release? Was it in the cinema version? I see no reason to cut this scene from the movie, since it is so short.

Did you consider the possibility that the Brazil version was censored to obtain a certian rating there? Since most people seem to remember this scene being in the movie, I'd say that's a definate possibility.

I really doubt that the film would be censored here in Brazil. Here, they aren't nearly as picky as they are in the States.
And I'm also talking about the region 1 release - I have both the standard R4 release and the region 1 CE, and both do not have the scene. A friend of mine also has both versions, and he confirmed this.
Well, thanks everybody for replying. :)

And what about the scars? Sabor makes scars in Tarzan's chest in the fight sequence. You can see the scars in the trailer, but not in the film.

Joe Carioca - do you remeber how the trailer begins because on the Mulan and Bug's Life videos, they have a special peak of the movie and i belive the scene might be somewhere in those sneak peaks.

Hey Uncle Remus, the trailer (actualy a teaser) I'm talking about was the first trailer produced. It starts with some shots of the "Tarzan" logo. Then, scenes of the movie follow, with "Two Worlds" playing in the background. The only dialogue in this trailer is Glen Close's voice saying "Close your eyes. Now, forget what you see. What do you feel?".

The fight scene is in this trailer... Check it for yourself. :)

I have both the One Disc edition and the CE. The scene is show non the One Disc but on my CE is has been removed. I never really thought about it before so it never caught my attention. That really bites.

Could you give us the time code for the scene that we're talking about, please? Thanks.

I did NOT see Tarzan being thrown against a "log tree" (whatever that is) and the rest as you have described. I see Kerchak knocking away Clayton's rifle at 00:55 to 00:56 into Trailer #1. Is this the right time stamp for the scene in Trailer #1 that you are refering to?

This is what I see. The scene's time stamp is 01:01:46.

I have the film on VHS tape that I will watch tonight to see if the scene at 01:01:46 is any different than on my CE 2-disc Tarzan DVD. Unfortunately, as with any tape, this is a laborious process.

BTW, IF the 1-disc DVD has this putative scene intact ("throwing Tarzan against a log tree, and he gets hit on his back. Then, Tarzan falls to the ground"), then the film would be longer (theoretically) than the CE 2-disc DVD. The EXACT time stamp for the entire film on the CE 2-disc DVD is 01:28:18. I do not have the 1-disc DVD to check its exact time stamp...

Can anyone give me the EXACT time stamp for the film on the 1-disc DVD (from the blackness before the Disney castle to the very end of the credits)?

Oops... sometimes my English is not as good as I'd like it to be.
Well, the scene is shown in Trailer # 1 at 00:42 to 00:43.
I do not have the 1-disc DVD to check its exact time stamp...
I also don't have the (American) region 1 DVD, so I can't check either
