Duck Tales The Movie: Treasure Of The Lost Lamp DVD

Mine arrived from Disney Movie Rewards today, and I've already watched the movie.
The transfer is fairly clean. Some graininess here and there, some minor dirt and scratches, but otherwise, it's a very good transfer. I didn't notice much in the way of digital artifacting.
They could have at least included a trailer and maybe a production-time featurette on the movie. Maybe even a semi-related episode of the series or a semi-related short cartoon. If I was a member of the Disney Movie Club, I'd still pay the $20 to get this, but it'd feel like about $5-$7.50 too high for how lightweight it is. The menus also could have been designed a bit better. I mean, for a single-layer disc that only uses up 3.31 GB of data, they could have fit a LITTLE bit of something else on there.
The set-top game, "Find Scrooge's Treasure," is fun, but not so fun that you'd play it more than once.
I'll include some caps and scans from the DVD soon. All in all, I'm thrilled with the DVD, simply because it offers a touch of nostalgia. It's been years since I last saw this movie on an old beat up VHS tape my aunt taped for me off Disney Channel, (You know, back when they DIDN'T suck?

) and it's as exciting and great as I remember.

cool! Thank you so much!
I really wanted to get the movie from the Disney The Rewards but I was scared what it might look like, or if an upgrade would come out soon because of the volume sets of the TV Episodes are coming out.

I will wait for the screen caps.

Wonderful, thanks for the review. I was actually about to ask if anyone had gotten it from the Rewards site, as I'm considering using my points for it. Looking forward to the screen caps!

75 for me! But I'm sooo broke right now...

I really hope they don't run out. This seems to be what everyone is after. I'll be ticked off if I finally get it and then it gets a wide release to retailers, ha.

I actually thought the quality on the Ducktales The movie DVD was transfered better onto the disc than the Ducktales tv series on DVD.... At least that is my own Humble Opinion...
I actually already own this because I bought through the disney movie club... I plan on saving up points to redeem for RocketMan which is a movie I have never saw but looks rather good...

I was just on the rewards site looking at Ducktales, and I refreshed for some reason, and when I did, Ducktales had "Quantities limited" beside it. So I went ahead and redeemed my points for it, and wanted to give you guys the heads up.

Thanks for letting us know, MouseHouse55. I need to grab a couple more DVD's to have enough points, and I may do it this weekend in light of your post. I absolutely love this movie.

Nice Scans! I'm just wondering why it has all the Canadian ratings and such when it's not avalible to us up here. Last time I checked Canadian's couldn't join the movie club and all the copies on ebay were way overpriced (like $60 CDN each!) So, does anyone know anything about it being released on the open market. I loved this movie when I was younger, would really like to see it again but I've misplaced my VHS.

Canadians can't join the movie club yet... but we can participate in the Disney Movie Rewards program and get the DVD as a reward that way.
I'm hoping that the'll eventually bring the movie club up here as well, but I"m not holding my breath...

Really.. We get the Reward program up here, cause I remember hearing that Cars and PotC 2 had it, but I didn't get anything about it with my copy of Cars or my sister's copy of PotC. Is it only recently when they brought it up here. If so, I'm hoping it stays a while, maybe I might pick up some points down the line with Ratatouille and such.

Yup, it just started with Peter Pan. Check out the website. Finally we got something here in Canada!
Also, if you bought movies like Cars and PotC that didn't come with codes, you can email their customer service and they'll send them to you! I did that with a bunch of movies I bought. All they require is either a scan of the receipt, or if you don't have it anymore, a scan of the proof of purchase.
Hopefully you'll get enough points to get the movie for free, they extended DisneyMovieRewards until the end of the year, and we're even going to be able to get points for seeing a movie in the theater.

So, I just scan the back of the box, with the proof-of-purchase tab/ barcode and they'll just send me a code for them. Great, and each one's 100 points, with means I'll still need six more (actually five and a half) in order to get my copy of Ducktales. I think I can do that, but probably not till the end of the year. Can you please post the email so I could request those reward codes? and tell me what info I'll need to send. Thanks it advance.

Sure thing Buzz,
Here's the email I received back after sending in the few receipts that I had:
"Dear Cristina,
Thank you for your email about missing codes. For the titles that you do not have receipts for, you can scan in the proofs of
purchases.
If you have any further questions, please contact us at
DisneyMovieRewards@Disneyhelp.com.
Sincerely,
The Disney Movie Rewards Consumer Relations Team"
Just tell them that you're from Canada and the program just started here so you didn't bother keeping all your receipts from months and months back. They seemed very friendly and helpful when I wrote to them. They will email you a code that you can enter into the website. It took me about 2 business days to get my codes the first time..still waiting for the second batch!
