I started my collection rather late, but managed to get Aladdin (it still being available) and The Lion King quite cheap. Beauty and the Beast was a different story though. About $55 off ebay. Sealed and with the slip cover mind. I've just bought Snow White for $20 new & sealed off ebay uk. It being region 1, there were no other bidders!

I'm currently hoping on Sleeping Beauty for around $35 off ebay, but the Fantasia Anthology is very hard to find, and when one pops up it's going for around $100.

I managed to get Cinderella, Lady and the Tramp and Bambi before the end of 2006, so no problems there.

The Treasures have been a nightmare at times. Luckily I got Silly Symphonies, Mickey Mouse in Living Color 1 & 2 and The Chronological Donald for about $10 each, but that was because I got the region 2 versions, and they come without the cases. At that price it's worth it though.

Mickey Mouse in B&W and The Complete Goofy are difficult though, especially the latter, going for about $80-100. I managed to get On the Front Lines and More Silly Symphonies just, and now they seem to be harder to get. Everything else seems to be still readily in stock, but I'll be buying the rest soon.

I've missed out on Snow White, Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King. I bought The Lion King for I think around 30 bucks online and am still waiting to find a good deal for the other two. sigh... I've also missed out on Sleeping Beauty but I'm waiting for the Platinum release, if there is one.

"The Fantasia Anthology" and the Limited Issue/earliest Gold Collection DVDs (such as "Pinocchio" and "101 Dalmatians"). My brother has "The Fantasia Anthology", and he may or may not give it to me, so there's still hope.

Only one comes to mind is Tarzan 2 Disc. I own all the treasures. I had all of the limited edition of animated classics although I have given a couple away to friends as they have been replaced with Platinum Editions.

None. I started buying DVDs around the time the Tarzan: Collector's Edition came out, and have been buying all of Disney's 2-disc animated classics ever since. I did have to pay 70 bucks for a new copy of Beauty and the Beast for my little cousin's birthday, though, since I didn't want her to wait until the re-release to finally own the movie. I've never been interested enough in the Treasures to buy them, so you could say I missed out on them willingly.

I missed out on The Emperors New Groove CE and the Fantasia Anthology. I bought Beauty and the Beast used back in August and i recently bought Sleeping Beauty new for $25.00.

Me too. That's the only one I really missed out on. I didnt bother to pick up the lame excuse for a release from Oct 2005. If I cant have the Collector's Edition - I'd rather stick with my VHS.

i didn't start buying disney dvd's til late 03 so i missed out on several of them. but thaks to ebay & dmc i pretty got all the ones i want other than the fantasia collection, pixar 15th collection, 101 dalmatians, the jungle book, and pinocchio ....other than trying to find those i been rather blessed when it comes to oop disney dvds ..... oops i forgot about beauty and the beast 2, i can't find one cheap anywhere

I started collecting Disney DVDs in October 2003 because I was a huge fan of "The Lion King." So that means that I missed out on these two wonderful films, and their fantastic DVDs. Luckily, my mom both bought these on eBay and now I'm not ever going to give them away, ever.

The Fantasia Anthology

My mom bought me this for my birthday, Feb. 2005. I had always wanted to watch "Fantasia" because it was such a wonderful sounding film (up to that point I had never seen it before). I was so lucky to get this because now "Fantasia" and "Fantasia 2000" are my two favorite films, ever. And the 3rd disc is a definite buy for anyone who is a fan of "Fantasia/Fantasia 2000" or just a fan of Disney

Tarzan, The Emperor's New Groove, A Bug's Life: Collector's Editions

I said I came in the game late, right? I first purchased the re-release of ABL and I was amazed. It is now my favorite PIXAR film. It was just because of the film, my VHS was on it's last spin. "Tarzan" was purchased, again, on eBay by my mom. It was one that I always wanted since "Tarzan" was such an aspiring film that it was a must have. I only recently got "The Emperor's New Groove" from, just guess, eBay. I had that VHS too and it was funny, comedic adventure that I knew I would enjoy. And these DVDs were pretty good too.

Technically I missed out on a lot of them when they came out from 1999 to 2004, as I didn't even start to *seriously* collect Disney Animated Classics until Fall 2005.

My first DAC was Aladdin: Platinum Edition, which I won free in an online Disney contest October 2004. I actually didn't even open it until a couple months after I got it. When I went to Florida, I figured it'd be easier to simply bring the discs than carry it unopened in the case, so I finally opened it and put it with my other discs in a DVD binder. Down in Florida, I could have picked up a lot of Disney titles, but chose instead to only pick up five over my seven months of working for the Mouse House:

The reason a bunch say "SRP minus $X Dollars minus X%" is because at WDW the $29.99 titles are marked down to $24.99, and in some cases, are also marked down to $19.99. The 40% discount was during the holiday season, for castmembers, and the 20% discount is the regulard castmember discount.

There are two Sleeping Beauty sets because the first came in a bad case, but great discs, while the second was great case and great discs, so I'm holding on to the first as back-up. All my other cases are in great condition, as are the discs. Quite a feat when about half my DACs were used when I bought them.

So the most I ever had to pay for one of the DACs was $27 for the Fantasia Anthology, but if I include my first DVD of Fantasia from 2005 in there as well, it's really $38. Not too bad.

I was so stupid to because when I first started collecting DVD's I would buy the VHS mind you, I would be paying for the movie twice LOL. Lord knows why I did that one! I ended up giving half of them away to charity so that was a plus lol. but anyway, I picked up the single disc because it had the full screen version the DVD and a stupid demo computer game which I still haven't played to this day lol. So that was really my fault. I then ran across it at block buster for 20.00 bucks and said no to!
So, I am stuck with the single disc. I am happy with it though because it isn't a favorite of mine.

I also missed out on, Davy Crockett Treasure, and Mickey Mouse Color Vol. 1.
I guess that's all I really care about lol.

The two disc set is still in print, if you want to upgrade to it you still can with little difficulty.

The only major releases I missed out was 101 Dalmatians limited edition and the Fantasia Anthology. Neither of them were in my collection before I lost it in the house fire.

Tarzan CE, The Emperor's New Groove UGE and Sleeping Beauty SE are the only two disc releases that I lost in the fire that are now out of print and haven't been replaced. So in a sense I missed out on them.

I am happy to say that I have never missed a Disney release when it has come to VHS or today when it comes to DVD. I had a complete collection of the VHS Disney titles, both live-action and animated, and today I have a complete DVD collection of those titles that are available, both live-action and animated.

I make it a point not to miss the release dates. They are always on sale the first week they come out at Best Buy or Circuit City, or even Wally World. Whomever has the cheapest price, gets my money.

I've only missed out on the first two platinums: Snow White and Beauty and the Beast. Luckily I found BatB used at my local Hastings, but w/o the slipcover and inserts As for non-platinums, I'm planning on paying a pretty penny for Tarzan CE, but it'll be worth it.

only ones I spent a pretty penny on were the Fantasia Anthology, and Ultimate Toy Box, as I wanted them pretty mint so i was picky.

I lucked out on Snow White, got her for $20 brand new.

I think only Mickey Mouse in B&W volume 1 was the other disney dvd i paid more than $50 for.

I can't think of any off the top of my head that I had to pay through the nose to get. I have missed several of the direct to video releases though, and I do intend to get them, so I'm thinking I WILL have to pay through the nose for at least Atlantis: Milo's Return and possibly some others. I'll probably have to pay through the nose for Old Yeller (2-disc) and Pollyanna (2-disc) for example. I need to get A LOT of the live action stuff though, but my collection is growing. Really want to make sure I snag 20,000 Leagues and Swiss Family Robinson while the 2-disc ones are still out there! And the Narnia 4 disc before all the copies are gone! Oh, and I need the Legacy Collection! Thankfully, I never missed the Disney Treasures!

As for the animated stuff, the only stuff I don't have (and I always get two-disc releases over single disc ones if they have both, like I have the 2-disc Atlantis, Tarzan, Bug's Life, etc...) that I still need is the following:

And I kinda want to upgrade my Dumbo from the older DVD, but I'm not sure it's worth upgrading the Robin Hood or Fox and the Hound DVDs.

There's also the Recess DVDs and James and the Giant Peach (was that ever out on DVD) that I want, but not badly. Truth is, I never really liked James and the Giant Peach, but I'm a completist.

That should cover all of my DVD purchases. At this point, there are very few that I really regret not getting sooner or missing out on. One for example is the Tarzan CE. That (I think) is the biggest classic noticibly missing from my collection that was released in a great DVD set. Then there's also the WDT's of Silly Symphonies Vol. 1 (now very expensive on eBay!!) and Behind the Scenes at the Walt Disney Studio (not as expensive, but I'd have to rely on getting it online which may be a problem..) And I didn't start collecting WDT's until this past December!! But, thankfully I only want those 2 sets mentioned above to make me happy. I also sort of regret not getting the LI's of Pinocchio or Jungle Book sooner. I have yet to see Pinocchio since I was really young and I am DYING to see it!! And The Jungle Book is one of my ALL-TIME favorite DAC's, which I've never owned in any format (VHS, DVD, Laserdisk, etc.)
