i saw this on another forum and decided to ask you all cause i disagreed with so many others on the other forum...so, imo fantasmic is wayyyyyy better cause it includes pyro, with classic movies, and has many characters and the ingenious water screens...its a truly magical show, however, illuminations is a great show too, but it to me is just a decent fireworks show with a cool globe and good music, but doesnt involve all things disney like fantasmic...

so... what do you think, and if youve never seen them youtube.com has videos of both shows...

I had to go with Fantasmic. I've only seen Illuminations once, and it was amazing, but Fantasmic takes the cake.

I also voted for Fantasmic! I complain every time I see Illuminations- what's the point of having the globe if you can't tell what the heck is showing on it? I adore Fantasmic! I love seeing all the movie clips, and the way they're shown, and the characters. What an amazing show!

thank u black cauldron i agree the globe thing is a great concept but u cant really see what the heck os going on! the music is moving, but the whole entire show of fantasmic is moving to me!

No contest here. <i>Fantasmic!</i> definitely gets my vote. And I don't think that's merely because it deals with Disney. I saw Illuminations at as good a location as any, I'd say. That was enough for me - it's not something I'd go out of my way to see again. But, thanks to the free meal plan deal going on and dinner reservations in the different countries, I got stuck having to walk through Epcot while Illuminations was going on the following two nights. Those loud booms don't get masked out and the total darkness isn't so much fun to walk through. <i>Fantasmic!</i> is something I could see many times, even if it is a hassle to either stand for the whole show or have to arrive so early in the isolated ampitheatre at WDW.

I have to say Fantasmic, I've seen both on youtube but I've also seen Fantasmic when I was in Disneyland back when they had the huge Ursula (I think it broke down) and it was really cool. Loved the ending with the big boat full of characters

yes the ending at the end with all the char. on the showboat is a true kodak moment.....i am surprised no one has voted for illum. though...

I read on Wikipedia (but I can't find it again for some reason) that they got rid of her because she was too expensive to maintain!

I am not surprised no one has voted for Illuminations. This is not even close. Fantasmic is utter brilliance. No matter how many times I see it, I never tire of it.

i am glad fantasmic is winning too, the forum isaw this topic on and gave me the idea yet on that forum illum was winning
