Hey guys, I for one have seen the upcoming schedule for Disney releases in the US (Via this website) but next to nothing when it comes to the UK and being from there myself, I would really like to know. Anyway, I came across a list of upcoming UK special editions and even though it may change in the near future, meaning it may not be 100% reliable, it still gives us an idea of what we can look forward during these upcoming years. Take a look at this:
Title
The Fox and the Hound (Single Disc Special Edition) Release: 26 February 2007
Peter Pan (2-Disc Special Editon) Release: 12 March 2007
Dumbo (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: 14 May 2007
Robin Hood (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: 14 May 2007
The Aristocats (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: Summer 2007
The Jungle Book (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: October 2 2007
The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: Aumtumn/Winter 2007
The Rescuers (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC 2007
One Hundred and One Dalmatians (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: March 2008
Pinocchio (re-release) (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC October 2008
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (re-release) (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC March 2009
Sleeping beauty (re-release) (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC October 2009
Beauty and the beast (re-release) (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC March 2010
Fantasia (re-release) (2-Disc Special Edition) Release: TBC October 2010
I personally think the schedule will stay like this as the big releases (Spring and Autumn) are the same as the US, so that makes it all the more hopeful (If it was different then I'd be a little worried). I'm particularly happy about "The Rescuers"! Even though it's not my favourite Disney film, I still think it deserves to be remastered with a special edition as it is a worthy movie and needs a makeover, as it is well overdue.

I live in Thailand and I wish we Thais can have something like this 'upcoming schedule for Disney releases in Thailand' too.
But unfortunately, the new distributor to Disney DVD in Thailand is not a kind of Professional in any DVD business.
We all Disney fan in Thailand are so sad...

I'm very pleased about The Rescuers. It's a pity Hercules isn't on the list, though.
How did you come by the information?

Rodin Hood Special Edition is being released in th UK on 14.05.07 the same day as the release of Dumbo Special Edition, neither has been specified as a one or two disc edition yet although both will be also be released in a joint bundle on the same day which leads me to think that both will be single disk Special Editions.

As I said before, this information isn't 100% reliable after all it is wikipedia. They probably will both be single disc special editions but on wikipedia it said 2 that's why I put it. Anyway, we can always hope. After all, you did say that it hadn't been specified whether it'll be a double or single disc edition.

None of that information is from Wikipedia, both dvd's are listed on amazon.co.uk and play.com both in single and bundle form. This means that both will be released. However release dates may change, although the only disney special edition dvd that i've ever known to change release dates after being advertised on amazon was pocahontas.

The release schedule I posted
was from Wikipedia I'll post the link if you don't believe me. Yes both DVDs are on "Amazon" and "Play" clarifying that they will both definitely be released which is right according to the schedule. Wikipedia may be wrong about the number of discs but we'll just have to wait and see. You say that you can get the DVDs in single or bundle form. Therefore, it doesn't actually elucidate the amount of discs that will be available, all it tells us is that you can either buy them both seperately (Single) or togther (Bundle). Meaning, the number of discs could still be open to a 2-Disc edition and according to "yamiiguy's" findings that may well be the case as Dumbo is advertised as 2-disc special edition.

To be honest, I don't care if it's not reliable. I mean, it's better than nothing. We in the UK hardly get anything like this as it is, so at least this gives us a vague idea as to what to expect in the near future, even if it isn't 100% accurate.

If any information of any kind is not reliable, it equals nothing.
I mean, if someone tells you something is going to happen but you can't be at all sure if they're correct, you're in the same position as if they'd told you nothing at all in the first place. Right?

True. At the end of the day, it's pretty much down to one's opinion. I think this schedule will stay the same and to me, it still gives an idea of what we can expect in the near future. Okay there might be a few things subject to change, for instance Snow White could come sooner than we think or Beauty and the Beast may be put back as an October release as suppose to a March. But all in all, the release schedule will stay pretty much the same, there just might be a bit of switching around. Look at One Hundred and One Dalmations, that was put back to 2008 instead of 2007 but we still knew it would be coming as it was scheduled on previous lists, it was hardly a suprise to us Disney collectors. So all I'm saying is, although some new titles may be added along the way, the release schedule will pretty much stay the same. Therefore, I don't think it's completely useless. Do you?

Great Mouse Detective 2. Sorry, it was joke that was flying about before I took my UD vacation, we had a member called Teede (Sp) who was certain a sequel for GMD was coming out.

I wish 101 Dalmatians could come sooner but I suppose I'll be happy with Peter Pan and The Aristocats
