Just got back from seeing this fantastic movie. Nicolas Cage was made to play this role. He is really good, and the whole movie rocks!!!! Don't miss it.

I was never a fan of the comic, in fact I thought Ghost Rider got too much credit in the comic world.
Also I'm not a Nic Cage fan and someone should tell him that he's not thirtyfive anymore, heck he's not even fourty anymore. I think the action star roles need to be drying up for him.

Maybe I'll go Bridge To Terabithia this weekend, though...hmm

I plan on seeing it this weekend, along with about a bazillion other things.
The movie looks good. Judging by the trailers alone I can tell
Cheers,
JM

I hate to say it... but... this movie... looks... really good. Even though I'll never like Nicolas Cage's acting (even in Valley Girl, which I've always tolerated him in - he was young and innocent then, it's a fair excuse). This is one of the few CGI-action adventure epics that doesn't look the least bit obnoxious. I wouldn't mind seeing this one myself, eventually.

WHEN YOU GET A NEW CAR,
AND YOU'RE FEELING LIKE A STAR,
WHAT YOU GONNA DO?
GHOST RIDE IT!
...I am so sorry, I don't know what came over me.
As for the movie, I've heard it's pretty mediocre so I'll probably just give it a mindless rent some time down the track.

My newspaper gave it a 4 out of 10. Maybe I'll rent it but I doubt it will be as good as Spider-Man or X-Men.

Nicolas Cage is just one of those actors who acts all his parts the same way. And he doesn't have much variety at all. He just always does dramas or action movies. All that's ever different are his character names. But, he always plays a somewhat suave 30-something with a ton of one-liners. Boring! He's so sedated in his acting style! He makes me want to fall asleep. There's no spark or passion in his voice or mannerisms. He is like the 40-something Ben Stein. "For dry, red Movies, Nick Cage is awesome!"

I agree with you, but I like his movies. Ben Stiller is the one who I can't stand.

While we're naming actors we hate, I can't stand John Travolta, though I'll see (and probably like) Wild Hogs, which has two more actors I can't stand (Martin Lawrence and Ray Liotta).
As for Ghost Rider, I was going to see it last night but it sold out, so I saw Teribithia instead - A wonderful movie. One of Disney's best Live Action in a while. Don't be midles by the ad campaign which plays it like a second rate version of Narnia; If you liked Holes and Charlotte's Web, don't miss Bridge to Teribithia.
I will try again to see Ghost Rider tomorrow.
Cheers,
JM

Caught Ghost Rider on the weekend, and it was one of the few comic book films where I wasn't familiar with the source material. As such, I had no baggage going in, and there were no shouts of 'they ruined his jacket' or something similar.
That's probably why I enjoyed the film so much. There were some absolutely terrible bits of dialogue, and bits that made no sense whatsoever (e.g. why did Sam Elliot go out for one last ride at all, other than to kill a lizard by the side of the road)?
I'm throwing all that out and saying I had fun watching it. It wasn't great, but it was enjoyable. It certainly didn't pretend to be anything other than it was, and sometimes you just need something like that on a lazy weekend.

I absolutely loathe Nicholas Cage as an actor, and I think this movie looks rediculous. You couldn't pay me $20 to waste the two hours of my life I would lose watching this movie.

Hell, I'd watch a crappy movie for $20...

I could never do that...
But for $2
5, I'd certainly consider.

I haven't seen this, but I am psyched to. I have never read Ghost Rider but was aware of it, as I do visit the local comic shop semi-frequently, and used to visit it weekly when I could afford to. Hope to be able to again someday, if the graphic novel my partner and I just finished does any good.
Anywho, my little sister saw it, and she HATED it. She said it was just the ultimate, MST3K worthy BAD MOVIE. She and I have very similar tastes, but occasionally disagree. I'm going to have to see this one before I am willing to believe her that it is that bad, because I think it looks like a lot of fun. And I think it's ridiculous to say Cage is too old for the action roles, as someone posted earlier. He isn't anywhere near too old. There are much older guys still doing them successfully. We still have another Indiana Jones movie coming, and I'm looking forward to it. I don't see/like all of Cage's movies, but I have LOVED some, like National Treasure and Raising Arizona, one recent, the other very old.
