Actually I wondered that no one had posted it yet. I'm kinda proud that finally I had some big news too. Normally I'm the one who comes here and sees all those great news.
And I ws astonished that you hadn't posted it yet.

Me too. But today was my sleeping-in day, so I was doing that.

Wow! Yay! This has made my day! I figured that the book would come out this summer, but now its a fact! Man, movie 5 is gonna be huge with the anticipation for this book!

Movie 5 will be released the weekend before the book. I'm no too happy about this, though. Of course, I'm excited for the book, but I would rather the Harry Potter events be spaced out more. We're running out of them, and having the movie released in the summer and the book released in the fall seemed like a better move, IMO.

My memory must be malfunctioning. I remember doing this with someone else (having competitions trying to write out words with smilies), but I can't remember if I was competing with you or someone else, numba1!
Anyways, yay yay yay and all that good stuff.
7/21/07 = 7 / 7+7+7 / 07 = Coincidence?
While a part of me is glad the seventh book is coming out, it's also a bit sad as we know it's the last book we'll ever read about Harry Potter (until some hack writer comes along years and years later and writes his unofficial continuation series like those new Dune books or the new Godfather novels).

I remember that, too! I think it was you and me...
As for the date, I'm surprised that they didn't keep the rumored 7/7/07 release. If they're releasing it in July anyway, why on the 21st? Does two weeks really make that big a difference? 21st has no significance...it seems they could have chosen a date with some HP importance...perhaps even Harry's birthday, which is July 31st.
Strange...

July 2007 is going to be month of Harry Potter. First
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix flies into theaters July 13, and then the final book
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows comes only 8 days after! I have a feeling the arrival of the final book so soon will encourage more people to see the fifth film...
I am a bit put off by the price tag ($34.99 SRP), but considering that it could be the lengthiest Potter book, I'm not that miffed. Besides, online retailers and the big bookstores have cut it down to a more reasonable $18. In any rate, I've preordered my copy from Amazon. The midnight book parties are fun, but chaotic and tiring (I went to one for the sixth book). I'd rather wait a few days for my copy to arrive before reading it.

I found out by getting an email from BarnesandNoble.com.
I immediately pre-ordered, and then saw an email come from Amazon.com a few hours later.
I thought - boy Amazon, you missed out. I probably would have ordered from them, had I gotten that email first.
BarnesandNoble was at the top of their game. Regardless, I am OH SO EXCITED about July this year. CAN NOT WAIT.

July 31st wouldn't have worked since it's in the middle of the week, and it's easier for all the kids to get thir hands on the new book if it's released on a Saturday and then you get enough time to read it on the weekend.
Next Harry Potter book - Date announced!!

This doesn't thrill me at all since I'm not really a Harry Potter fan, but I learned of the news and thought I would share it with UD. I read today that the next Harry Potter book is scheduled to hit shelves on July 21st
