I'm going to be going to work for Disney (at lease I hope) after I graduate and I had a few questions for anyone who has done it!! What is the phone interview like? What questions do they ask you? and What are they looking for when they interview you? and can you ask questions? and also how long to you have to wait before you get your acceptance letter?!! If anyone can answer these questions please do I desperatly need to know asap!!

Very much like the live interview for those who do the campus presentations. They'll simply chat with you, ask about your work experience, your major, what you plan to do with your life. Present yourself as a happy and excitable person, someone who is eager to work and make guests happy. Talk about how you enjoy interaction and how you love working together as a team with others. It should only be about 20 minutes or so, so make sure not to be disturbed and that it's in a quiet area.

Pretty much what I said above. A bright and chipper person eager to work and make guests happy. It's all about presentation, you have to present yourself as someone who wants both a professional job (to an extent) and to provide great guest service. Someone who knows the power that the Disney name brings, but wants the job for more than a name on a resume.

If they ask if you have questions, then yes. But don't get too inquisitive and ask stuff like, "So is it true that they call the Vista Way hot tub the STD pool?" Ask about work benefits and what types of opportunities you'd have beyond your work. I'm sure it's okay to ask stuff like "what's the housing like?" and "should I bring my car?", but those will be covered in better detail on the actual site and confirmation packet. Also, asking about a lot of specifics may make you seem a bit too confident in yourself, as if you were going to the interview with the belief you're already getting the job and that the interview is just a formality, and you don't want the interviewer to sense that. You want him to know you're confident in yourself and hoping you'll get the opportunity to do the job, but that it's ultimately up to him/the company to decide if you will get it.

It's been awhile since I received my first acceptance letter and my second one was merely a formality since they knew when I was coming down, but they usually say it's a month or less, depending on when your interview was (versus when your program starts). With the phone interviews, I'm sure it'll be a little longer as you'd have to mail in your application (as opposed to giving it to them at a live interview).

thanks for the information!! Is it hard to get the job because I really want it!! I loved Disney ever since I knew what it was and working there would be a dream to me!! They are supposed to call me for the phone interview at the end of February. If there is any other tips you can give me to help me get the job please say so anything would be helpful to make my dream come true!! I hope the interview goes well!! Well thanks again!!

Hey I'm going to be going to work for disney this summer for the disney career start program after I graduate and I had a few questions. What is it like and is it a good experience? What was your best moments and your worst moments at disney? Also is the college credit part, the classes, is it hard and will I ever get any time to have fun in the parks and stuff?

It all really depends on what you make of your program. That is, will you go down there with the intent of serious work, or will you go down there with the intent of having parties and fun, while going to work enough times to keep from getting fired? Normally, htere's a healthy balance between those two ends of the spectrum, and over time, you'll master that balance. Essentially, it's a job, just like any other, only the perk is you're doing it at Disney and wear silly costumes.

I never took the college credit courses (since the school I attended wouldn't recognize them anyway), and even if I did, it'd mean giving up an off day for a weekly 5-hour seminar. I went down for the work, not the education, though the classes are really good down there. If you're interested, you should take one, but you have to be committed to it as much as you are to the regular job.

Yes. As Kram always likes to remind me, "If you can't find the time, make it yourself." Make it a point to enjoy off days. Visit parks for fun time before a late shift, or after a day shift. It's all about time management. But at the same time, it's also about time mismanagement. On an off day, just go to wherever the first bus takes you, walk around, do what you feel like. When you get bored, hop on the first bus you see and visit the park or hotel it stops at. Enjoy yourself without having to structure your fun.

And eat at Earl of Sandwich, in Downtown Disney, at least once a week.

Magic Kingdom OutDoor Foods (MK ODF). Was a vendor for my first program, then last summer I was a stocker. As a vendor, the costume changed depending on my assigned location for the shift. So I wore every land costume, except Toontown, because oddly, I was never assigned to work in Toontown. Thank goodness, too, since the Toontown jeans are not that great to wear in the summertime. Last summer, since I stocked, I got to just wear a normal breaker costume, so I hardly had to do a silly one, except in the few times when they needed me to work on the Nut Wagon.

my phone interview is tomorrow and 12 noon! Is there anything else I should to get prepared!! I'm so excited!!

i had my interview last monday and I sent my hard copy to disney!! what do I do now? or should I say what happens now??
