YouTube Downtimes

Why are there always these downtimes at YouTube that seem to last who knows how long? Normally, there is a hidden way in, if you look hard enough, but I've tried the methods and I'm still not getting in. What gives? Why are they always closed?

That's funny, I have never had any problem with YouTube being down. And I get there probably at some of the weirdest times of the day. Maybe you just aren't accessing them the right way. I have the main page saved to my bookmarks, and just click on there when I want to go to YouTube and I have never had any problems.

This may be a little off-topic but my school has banned Youtube entirely. Everytime you try to access it you get an "Access Denied" page instead.

Doesn't come as much of a surprise. Can't exactly see YouTube being a much desired study guide.

I also have had no problems accessing YouTube - and I have problems with every single website out there. The only thing I dispise about YouTube is the way they keep taking everything down. One of the first clips I was dying to see was a clip of Siskel & Ebert at the Movies critiquing a movie, and by the time YouTube finally started working for me (my computer updated to their Flash player requirements), the clip was "Removed." But it didn't say for any special copyright reasons or anything. Still- I was majorly bummed!

But, except for the fact that I have dial-up and it takes forever for their clips to load, I still use them quite a bit. And have had no serious problems with them.

That happened yesterday for me too, I hate it. It's annoying and it does happen at the worst times. But the site is so good that I can overlook the stupid downtimes. And yes like you Lazario, I have dial-up too and it takes me forever to load things. I hope that we can get broadband soon, because it takes so long. I start to load the clip and temptation gets the better of me, and I watch bits of it before they've even loaded, so it ruins the clip for me. It sucks.

Shh! Keep it down, will ya! You don't want Disney to think we're up to something. They will try to remove them, so keep a low profile, capisce?

Thanks for sharing that.

They always do this when I go onto youtube, it happens about once a week for me. Because I live in Australia, they try to renovate youtube while Americans are asleep, therefor I'm awake. If you see a crazy proffessor holding a test tube full of acid, it just means they're creating another tool for youtube, like how they've introduced those boxes with a + on them so you can create a playlist.

Btw Hades I was joking :P
