For quite awhile now, I've been hearing rumors of a Wonderful World of Disney version of "A Wrinkle in Time." But I am having trouble finding any current information on this project, like when will it air? I loved this book as a kid, and I can't wait to see it.

There's a trailer for it on the Spy Kids DVD, of all places. It's apparently aired in Australia and Germany, but not in the US. Why? I have no idea.
I'd like to see it as the book was rather fascinating. This has been in the can (so to speak) for at least two years now. So the delay which was supposed to to various sweeps periods, but has yet to materialize, is troubling.

Besides Spy Kids, another DVD featured the trailer and I can't find it. I can't remember which BV title. Anyway some news from the official web site of the author.
The highly anticipated movie-version of A Wrinkle In Time is the winner of the 2003 Best Feature Film Award at the Toronto Children's Film Festival! The following is from the flm festivals press release:
"John Kent Harrison's A WRINKLE IN TIME (Canada) won the Feature Film Award. Adapted from the classic book by Madeleine L'Engle, the film A WRINKLE IN TIME combines science fiction, romance, and adventure into a brilliant, multifaceted story. When Dr. Jack Murray, a world-renowned physicist, and his friend Hank experiment with fifth-dimension time travel and suddenly disappear, Murray's children and neighbour embark on a perilous quest with three celestial beings as their guides to find the missing scientists. The Feature Film Award was chosen by Sprockets audiences."
If you wish to be added to our email update list for updates on the "Wrinkle" movie and other Madeleine L'Engle info, click here. And, while we cannot vouch for the accuracy of information on these sites, we invite you to visit both the Toronto Children's Film Festival website and the special "Wrinkle" section of Fireworks Entertainment website, one of the producers of the film (click on "Television", then "Mini-Series and MOW's", then "A Wrinkle In Time"). When the movie does finally air on ABC, we plan to have some special features devoted to the book, including your responses to the movie, the unveiling of an interactive "Murry Family Tree", and more. We look forward to the release of the film inspiring a discussion, revisiting, and hopefully, new discovery of Madeleine's most famous and best-loved book.

An excerpt from a Alfre Woodard site:
The highly anticipated ABC-TV Wonderful World of Disney "A Wrinkle in Time" was scheduled to air February 2002, July 2002, November 2002, March 2003, then Summer 2003, then Holiday 2003 (Still Possible?) and now rumor has it May 2004 (Sweeps). I give up already, it's never happening. Just like the "Legend" DVD, two years of lenghty release dates and waiting games.

Yes, I have been wondering about that. Last year when I worked at The Disney Store, a shot from it was always included in the ad segment for The Wonderful World of Disney on the big movie screen. It was the only original movie for that season I had been looking forward to (apart from Eloise, of course). It makes me a bit angry that they didn't air it. Oh well. I had been worried that maybe it had been aired but I'd missed it.

Spoke with FireWorks earlier today, and they advised due to Disney not being able to find the "right slot" for this mini-series, it is delayed until further notice. She did advise highly likely to hit either in Feb or May 2004.

I just find it odd that they haven't aired it already, but February or May of next year would be nice. For the record, I've heard February 2002 sweeps, November 2002 sweeps, May 2003 sweeps, and now February or May sweeps 2004.

It would be nice to just have them release it on DVD, but I doubt they ever will!
