Yes, it's the same opening that's been appearing on live action films such as Narnia and Pirates.

Not that it's not a beautiful opening, but I always liked it on feature movies instead of the animated ones.

I'm pretty sure Disney already "uveiled" this in front of DMC about six months ago. Still cool, though.

Cheers,

arent they making a separate one for animated movies? why bother slapping this on cindy 3 just for the sake of having a new logo?

I actually like that one...I like how it starts off showing the second star to the right. But the blue logo will always be my favorite.

Whoa, I never noticed that before. I mean, I noticed the star, but I never made that connection. That's pretty awesome.

Lighthousemike,

Does "Fox and the Hound 2" did have the blue logo? I guess this was the last direct-to-video movie to have its original 1985 logo after 21 years. "Cinderella 3" did have the new logo for a direct-to-video movie. This is the first time using the new logo, but it's much the same than "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest", "Invincible" and "Santa Clause 3". Is the two PE's of "Peter Pan" and "The Jungle Book" is now using the new logo? Will have to wait and see.

I guess this one came from the beginning of "Enchanted", after that, it zoomed right into the castle and into the storybook open.

And in addition to that, I've seen trailers to Disney films on DVD, but it does have the logo that says "Disney" on it. I wish they should put this on DVD. The news finally came out that Buena Vista Home Entertainment is now Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

I got the Platinum Edition of "The Jungle Book" but it does have the 2001 Walt Disney Home Entertainment logo, I guess they should use the last batch of DVD's until they should switch it to a new logo which will be coming out soon on every Disney DVD releases including the Platinum Edition DVD's of "101 Dalmatians" and "Sleeping Beauty" on both DVD and Blu-Ray disc. Here is a pic of what the new logo is going to be.

This one should used a star trailing to unveiled a new logo in shimmering water which is says "Disney" instead of "Walt Disney Pictures", and it does use the cut-short version after the end credits of every current Disney film. Be on the look out for this when it comes out on DVD.

isnt this logo in the pirates 3 dvd? at least it is on the region 3 pirates dvd i have.

the disc one starts with montage of disney film...it starts with jack saying "we have our heading" and then clips of lion king, ariel, shaggy dog, national treasure..cindy, nightmare and all came on screen including POCAHONTAS :D and then the clips form the castle...

on the second disc..they cut it short to the screencap part.

can someone clarify this?

I'm not really sure! I guess POTC: AWE DVD does have either the 2001 WDHE logo or may a new one, but I don't know what this logo is? Find out!

Can I just say, I hate this new "logo"? Mainly because its not a "logo" its a detailed animated short.

The whole purpose of a logo is to be simple, but unique and easily identified. The old Buena Vista castle was so much better for this purpose (and it could easily be modified - as indeed it was at the start of many films - and still remain easily identified).

uh.... it's just a little promotional commercial. It's not actual opening logo that they're slapping in front of films on dvd/theaters.

Oh, hey, it's the second star to the right!

Well, while I'm not the hugest fan of it, there is an odd tear jerker quality to it when the "When You Wish Upon a Star" music really kicks in. In addition to this, it's had a variety of uses. When combined with 3D it is pretty impressive and a good inro to a 3D movie. Another thing that helped me warm up to it was how Enchanted started up right from that logo and used the castle itself for its intro.

However, I must complain that it's a bit longer and more involved than a logo should be. The visuals are nice, but it's more of a landscape than a logo. It's a bit over the top, in short.

I wonder what the coat of arms on the flag is, and whose houses those are supposed to be.

That intro on POTC: AWE was a terrific surprise(I certainly wasn't expecting it, and I even read Kelvin's review ).

Was extra giddy to see The Nightmare Before Christmas, Chicken Little, The Lion King, National Treasure and a Tim Allen movie in particular mentioned! :D

But not nearly as giddy as that final page putting "The Little Mermaid" dead last on the list implying Disney knows it's the worst and most insignificant film they've ever released. :D :D

Although, I do find it a little weird they're claiming Nightmare, TLK and Pinocchio are available on DVD and BLu-Ray. :?
