One image can't judge a movie.
Give Ratatouille a try since it looks okay.

I can't even begin to imagine what this film must be about, but i can image that at some point this robot gets sad...

I guess we can wait to see a trailer for this with ratatouille.

Well, despite it being one screencap, I'll say it here:

That is without doubt the best designed Pixar character ever!!!

I've always had a soft spot for robots! And I like he looks so different from the other Pixar characters! Unless they resort to the pale Pixar formula of "buddies that go on an epic journey to find something"(which might be the case with the director), this might even beat the Toy Story films as my favorite Pixar film!

Very cute looking robot. What a sad look on his face. I can't wait to see a trailer for this, and find out more information. Thanks for posting!

With Andrew Stanton directing, I'm sure it'll be a great film, as was Finding Nemo!

Well, it looks like they basically took Johnny 5 from Short Circuit, stunted his growth and put him on depressants. Still cute, though.

Still, I wish they'd get Brad Bird back... he's responsible for Pixar's best work to date.

You are right! That is what he looks like!

You are right about that one, too! I'm sure Brad Bird is still with the company. He is one of the director's of Ratatouille!

Kinda reminds me of Lenny too. (The binoculars from Toy Story)

And if I squint really hard, there's a passing resemblance to the flying robot aliens from *batteries not included.

:P

I tried looking this one up at IMDB, but you can only get access to the film's page if you're an IMDBPro subscriber... that's the first time I've hit a movie like that.

Can't really judge too much from just the one picture, but it is great to have seen a picture and I'm sure we'll be hearing and seeing more of WALL . E in the near future.

True... I forgot Brad was also working on Ratatouille. I guess having him came back to do the very next movie after it as well might be considered excessive. Still, though Brad Bird does a great robot flick.

I just hope this one isn't another "buddy" movie.

from the looks of the background and the model of the robot, I think this film is theme around those little robots that are sent to other planets for study and such. i think this may have to do with rovers on Mars. Do you think so?

That's a good thought. The little we can see of the background scenery and sky certainly doesn't look like Earth, unless it's set in some distant future where the climate has shifted drastically.

Even from this little screenshot, though, I like the look of the colouring and animation style on this movie... it gives off a very real-world "dreary" atmosphere, which is always cool.

Interesting. I'm looking forward for this movie. like the design. Star Wars-ish(original trilogy one that is)

Speaking of, after that movie debut, expect to see that robot(an any others) in Star Tours......

I'm guessing that by the time this comes out, we're supposed to forget about Dreamwork's Robots?

I like the design. The eyes make me want to hug this machine despite the unhuggable metallic pieces.

That was actually the first thing I thought, too. I'm really looking forward to this, given that "Cars" was disappointing and "Ratatouille" looks...well, I'm not too sure about it yet, though I felt that about "Monsters Inc." too and wound up loving it.

What in the world is that thing?! I don't like that little robot one bit. (Of course this is only my judging on its looks.)

What's not to like about its looks? It's rather cute. I might be biased, though. I'm the type of person who's more comfortable with machines than people.

OMG! Its a copy of Blue Sky's Robots. They're so unoriginal. Somebody does a robot CGI movie, and they have to copy. They suck, they have no original ideas, only other peoples'.

^^^ My impression on what people would say if this was a Dreamworks film.

I actually think Pixar is aware that people could compare this to Blue Sky's "Robots" and that's why Wall-E does not resemble a walking robot like "Robots" mostly had. Instead, they use this different type of robot to differentiate them from the Blue Sky movie of the same genre.

I don't feel "Robots" when I look at that still at all... I think it looks neat-o so far

Robot's wasn't Dreamworks it was 20th Century Fox, the same company that did Ice Age 1 and 2. They also did Anastasia and Ferngully for that matter.

Anyway, I think I agree with whoever said this looks outerspace-ish. I was actually going to ask if anyone else thought that, but you beat me.
