This will be the third year I oversee what I'd deem an intimate (i.e. not overly popular) but involving contest which tracks the box office performances of all new releases from Walt Disney Pictures versus our pre-release guesstimates.

Nevertheless, Disney's 2007 slate seems pretty firm, so with the new year upon us, what better time is there to start predicting their performances. If you've already made predictions for 2007 films in the 2006 thread, there is no need to repeat them - I've already got them.

Two films from 2006 are still earning money, so I've yet to declare a winner for then, even though I should be able to declare one pretty soon. Like 2005's winner, 2006's most accurate overall predictor will earn the 2006 movie of their choice on DVD. I'm not going to make that same guarantee for 2007, but I think it's something I likely will also offer as a reward. This year, the prize -- which in the past has extended only to those who have made predictions for more than half the films -- would only be obtainable for those who have entered predictions for all 8 Disney-branded films of 2007.

Meet the Robinsons - $121 million
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - $375 million

Bridge to Terabithia - I think I've seen the trailer for this, like, once. The promotion on this has been pretty terrible if you ask me. I still don't know what the hell it's about aside from what I've read here and at IMDb! $45 million

Meet the Robinsons - Could be Chicken Little-esque, dollarwise, not qualitywise. $150 million

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End - This is gonna be just as huge as DMC, trust me. $415 million

Ratatouille - Still sticking to my original prediction. $275 million

Underdog - Sounds pretty cheesy, don't see it making a load of money, but still, not much is known about it at this time, so I'll give a generic prediction. $50 million

The Game Plan - The forgotten one. With what sounds like a Pacifier-esque plot, and what should be a similar ad campaign, I expect success along those lines. $125 million

Enchanted - This should be blockbuster #3 (4 if you include TGP) for what should be one of Disney's most succesful years on record. $135 million

National Treasure: The Book of Secrets - I expect it to be bigger and better than the original, and go on to become a huge success, the second biggest of the year. $275 million"

Bridge to Teribithia - 75m although I can see this going over 100 if they ever get the marketing in order....

Meet the Robinsons - 150m although again I can see this going higher - its had great crowd reaction to the trailers and interest is already high...

Pirates 3 - 400m - Dont think this will get more than DMC but it should still cross the 4 mark

Ratitouille (sp?) - 260 - maybe the next FN but more than likely will end up between Cars and Incredibles...

Underdog - 65m - a performance much like Sky High although it could go either way....

The Game Plan - 50m - need more info....

Enchanted - 110 but again I really think it could go either way it could become a run-away hit and get 2d back on its feet or it could tank....

National Treasure 2 - one of the few "Locks" of 2007 - 200m this could do a Meet the Fockers and rocket well above its Predicesser or it could have Sequalitis and not do nearly as well....

If you look at the front page, Meet the Robinsons is going to have a commercial during the Super Bowl. Considering SO many people just pay attention to the Super Bowl commercials alone, it's certainly going to get even more attention than before and has a pretty big chance to gross at least $200 million.

It'll hit the $100 million mark, that's for sure, but not $200 million, no way. Also, I left Ratatouile out because I knew you'd correct him on that one.

Well, this is my first time venturing into this contest, so I'm sure my predictions will be really off. Still, it's nice attaching a number that we feel can reflect the quality of the movie as determined by how many people pay money to see it. BTW, is this just US intake or worldwide?
