Hi Everyone!

Is that time of the year where it gets really cold, heaters come on so do fireplaces, stores start selling egg nog (yuck) and hot cocoa, malls and houses start getting decorated, sales start all over stores, and for some reason you feel your bank account will soon start feeling the pain of the Christmas season! Yes..... even the very thought of buying presents in a busy department store or even fighting someone for the last item you also want start to come to mind. scary thought! but aren't we all glad we got movies! lol There's very few christmas movies that actually get you in the mood and makes the spending and fighting more enjoyable  Well for me it's been quite a while since i've seen a Disney movie give me the fuzzy feeling and actually put tears in my eye out of joy and happiness and now im starting to sound weird........ anyways, this year Walt Disney Pictures is releasing it's last christmas hit Santa Clause 2 on Nov 18th (DVD comes in WS and P&S) and as usual you all have first look at it here at Ultimate Disney! so let's begin!

<img src="http://ultimatedisney.netfirms.com/sc2/moviescene.jpg">

Story

It's been 8 years since Scott became Santa, and the elves agree he's the best one yet! There's just one problem.........If he doesn't find a wife by Christmas Eve, he loses the job forever!

Video

Presented in it's Original Aspect Ration: Anamorphic 1:85.1 WS. The picture looks great. The picture is sharp, colors are great and no a sign of grain or specks! this is a very clean transfer!

Sound

comes in 5.1 English, French and Spanish. It should keep all happy hehe.
The mix is very alive and it has that christmas feel to it. I'm very satisfy with it nothing to complain in this department! :) Subtittles include only English.

Bonus Material

Inside the North Pole with Curtis (9 min 47 sec)

Go along the north pole with Curtis #2 Elf as he take you behind the scenes in the making of the Santa Clause 2. This is a overview and nothing is too deep. They do try to make it believable and funny at times.

True Confessions from Legendary Figures (3min 30 sec)

Interviews with Mother Nature, Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Cupid, Father Time and Sand Man. Doesn't hold out very well. it's not funny, neither does it show any insight on anything besides ranting on each other.........

<img src="http://ultimatedisney.netfirms.com/sc2/tour.jpg"> <img src="http://ultimatedisney.netfirms.com/sc2/tour2.jpg">

Director's Tour of Elfsburg (4 min 15 sec) Another "make believe tour" this time the director takes us around the elf village where problem have arouse due to the elves and soldiers not getting along with each other. this is a ok piece since we get to see the set but again nothing much and where's Tim Allen?

Gag Reel ( 4 Min 17 Sec) This actually is Funny! the best feature in this disc! and there's Tim Allen! MMB RECOMMENDED

<img src="http://ultimatedisney.netfirms.com/sc2/gagreel.jpg"> <img src="http://ultimatedisney.netfirms.com/sc2/gagreel2.jpg">

Deleted Scenes (11 min 51 Sec w/ Play All)

We get treated to 7 deleted scenes the good thing is Disney has equip us with a PLAY ALL button! The Molenator (extended scene) took a laughter out of me because you see Father Time hitting on Mother Nature is a must see! MMB RECOMMENDED!

Operation Toybox: Save Santa Game

This in the style of the Beauty and the Beast DVD game has some challenge to it!

Audio Commentary

We get a full lenght Commentary with Director Michael Lembeck

Easter Eggs Alert

There's a Easter Egg hidden in the Disc somewhere! if you find it you'll get treated to funny screen tests! MMB RECOMMENDED

also there menu interaction on the Bonus Material screen

Register You DVD (Self Explanatory)

Sneek Peeks

Freaky Friday
Lion King 1 1/2
Spy Kid 3D-Game Over
According to Jim (why this is here puzzles me)
Lilo & Stitch's Island of Adventure DVD Game
Toys for Tots

All Menus are 16x9 Enhanced and all of the bonus features are 1.33:1 or 4x3 Letterboxed.

This is a very solid movie and it's very touching and entertaining while the Bonus Features were mostly fluff and kiddie oriented. I found the Gag Reel, Easter Egg and the Deleted Scene mentioned above very funny. I really recommended for purchase for your holiday season either way if you dont want to pay $19.99 + Tax, A rental is really recommended!

No short film as a reward for completing the game, then?

I was hoping for the Silly Symphony "Santa's Workshop"...

sweet the some of the Snaps are up! and for this been a new release not many people has started a discussion..........

I'll contribute to the discussion.

The good: the movie is far better than you might fear. 8 years is a long time to wait to do a sequel, and some of the most disappointing sequels have come after a long time has passed (Godfather III, The Two Jakes). But while it doesn't have the same kind of magic of the original, it does work quite well.

The bad: The Santa Clause (SE) / Santa Clause 2 2-Pack is ONLY available in Fullscreen. You won't want this, and unfortunately, it's selling way more than it should on Amazon and elsewhere. Oh, how wise of you Disney not to do a two-pack of the widescreen discs.

The ugly: Some places (*cough*Circuit City*cough*), while they appear to be offering a significant discount on this title Tuesday, it appears they won't be selling the Widescreen disc at all. Certainly not on their website, anyway. Pretty lame.

The warning: when picking this up on Tuesday, make sure the front cover says WIDESCREEN on top. They did apparently add "FULLSCREEN" to the other cover, but still, it's been a while since there's been dual releases for a Disney film. Be careful.

cool thanks luke! just to add to luke's post. The Widescreen Version has a red banner on the top that says Widescreen. I think the Fullscreen is Blue

It's not been *that* long. Holes was released in seperate 1.85:1 16x9 and 4x3 versions on Septembeer 23. I got the right one, of course. The WS one had a big black bar (coincidence?) on the bottom that says WIDESCREEN. The FS one had a blue bar with FULLSCREEN written.

At least they're noting it on the Santa Clause 2 cover; the cover of the SE Santa Clause doesn't denote the version. I remember having to shift through five or six of them at Target on Black Friday last year trying to find the WS one (to no avail.) Since Target's usually pretty good about stocking both versions I attribute this to them being sold out of the WS versions. Heck, they were selling it for $11.98, I'm not suprised it sold. But I got FOTR EE instead that day, and that's a MUCH better set.

Back on topic, I missed Santa Clause 2 in theaters last fall. I'll be sure to give it a rent sometime this holiday season, but with everything else coming out on Tuesday (TTT EE, 007 boxes, Sinbad, My Big Fat Greek Life, Frank & Ollie), I don't think I can afford to buy it blind right now.

That sucks about the 2-pack being fullscreen only. They won't be getting any money from me, no they won't!

Though my mom plans on buying the 2-pack so they'll get money from her, haha.

Ah well, at least I'll still get to see the movies, even if they are fullscreen. I don't mind too much watching something that's fullscreen but I refuse to personally own a fullscreen dvd (unless it's AR is 1:33:1)

Can't wait to see Santa Clause 2. I've seen the first one quite a number of times and love it, and it sounds like this is a decent sequel. :)

You'll all love it!

I saw it last year with the free ticket inside the SE of the original movie. It was great and I even like it better than the first. I think it is a little more for grown ups with the romantic storyline.

I will definately be picking it up on tues. with TTT:EE and probably Frank and Ollie, but SC2 will be one of the two guarantee buys.

Got mine at Circuit City this morning. All the copies there were specially marked with a Haunted Mansion moviecash ticket inside. After 3 trips to CC (2nd time to replace a Bond set with a broken hub), (3rd time to replace a SC2 with a broken hub) I was able to keep the mc ticket from the initial defective case so I'll be seeing HM twice thanks to SC2.
