OK, this may be either the craziest thing ever tried or at least the most ambitious:

I know people have tried watching the Disney animated classics from beginning to end and that's really impressive, given all the movies there are.

But I'm going to try and take it one step farther.

Why not try and watch everything: from Cinderella (the 1922 Laugh-o-Gram) to Cars? All the shorts, all the feature animation, all the live action... or at least all I own.

Sound a bit ambitious? I'm going to give this a try, but not sure when. The only thing holding me up is the Legacy Collection of the Oswald shorts. I don't know if I should wait, or just push on.

You should keep a log of the movies and the times that you view them.

No its not.

I'm still in the middle of something similar. I'm doing every Disney feature during Walt's life time. Not just animated, but live action as well. I started it in late August and I needed to take a break by mid November. So I'm currently on Nikki, Wild Dog of the North and plan to start it up again next month. I'm a little over halfway. It was difficult and costly to obtain the films I was missing. I'm still missing two that go on ebay for an average price of $70.

Oh, no way could I do it without breaks. It would take forever. Plus I have college classes to take.

Besides, everything, even Mickey Mouse, needs to be taken in small doses.

One other thing to consider adding to the run is the Wal Disney TV series. I have a couple of episodes taped off Vault Disney plus episodes from the Treasures and Legacy collection. The problem with doing that is then that opens the door for shows like Gummi Bears, DuckTales, etc...

I think I'll add them. It'll make for an amazing project. Plus you'll be able to trace the evolution of the Studios.

Which ones are they? Might be able to help you get them for a lot less. I do a lot of cruising of used stores (we have 24 of them here) and Pawn Shops (over 100), I should be able to help you get what you need without spending all that money.

Well you've generated more discussion than I did in my thread.

I started watching all the animated classics about 2 weeks ago to get me in the mood for a holiday in Disneyland.

I was posting my thoughts after each viewing, hoping to turn it into a big retrospective discussion thread, and no-one seems interested.

Have to say I'm very disappointed in the lack of interest.

It seemed a good idea at the time, and although I'm still going to watch the movies, I'm feeling a bit disinterested in continuing to post if people just aren't interested in joining in.

darth-deetoo, I liked what you were doing. Your comments were pretty right on. I just wasn't sure if you would have liked someone to post a response.

I've been wanting to do something similar as well. My friend was supposed to come over New Years Eve during the day, since her parents were going to Victoria for a party, and we were going to watch Disney from when she arrived to 9pm the next day only stopping for Bathroom Breaks and the occaisonal nap Unfortunately she had to babysit instead Starting this weekeend however I'm going to watch all of my T.V Show DVD"s, The Gummi Bears, Ducktales etc. and than go from there on my own

Well, it's the ambition of the project. And me being me, I know just because people do not reply does not mean they are not reading. Trust me, it is read and as time and movies wear on, more comments will come in. That's the nature of the beast.

As for me... I just don't know if I want to push on without Oswald or wait. If Disney could give some idea when to expect them, then I could decide. If they're gonna make us wait until next Christmas, I'll just back track.

I was originally going to include the sequels I had, and some of the live action stuff. But to be honest, in the time I have before I go to Disneyland, I'm afraid that's far too ambitious.

I do intend to include Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Pete's Dragon and the Pirates movies though. And the Pixar ones too - but won't be slotting all of them into order though.
