Anyone picking this DVD set this week?
I don't recall this series. Is it like a kids thing?
Opinions on the show?
Thanks,
James

I used to watch this show as a kid, it was ok, nothing special, about 4 kids who wind up in the game. I would try to rent it or see an episode before you buy it

Thanks!
I also read on another forum that there is no ending. The show got cancelled so it leaves you hanging. I think I will pass as I hate that.

I used to really like this show as a kid. When it was announced on dvd, I was shocked to realized how few episodes were actually produced. I won't be getting it as I don't see myself viewing it over and over, but my rent it and watch with my 5 year old son.

As some of you long-timers know, I'm a child of the 80s (born in 1972). One of my all-time favorite Saturday morning cartoons was D&D, which ran from 1983-85 on ABC with 27 episodes.
Anyway, my wife actually bought this recently released box set for me for Christmas and I sat down a few days ago to watch disc 1 with my 6 year-old daughter. I tried explaining the concept of "Saturday Morning Cartoons" and what an event they were for MY generation, since we had no Cartoon Network, Nick, Disney Channel, etc.,...we got our cartoons from 7-Noon on Saturday mornings and thatw as it for a week. So we watched the first episode and she not only loved it, she's damn near watched ALL 27 EPISODES and cannot get enough!
For those that enjoyed this short-lived (and never completed) series...it's worth the money to purchase this set.

I for one agree with you!!!
D&D was the best cartoon on Sat mornings!!!
I miss those days!!! When cartoons were CARTOONS!!!
Not todays JUNK!!!
I bought a bootleg box set about a year ago and loved rewatching them. I saw the r1 version the other day at walmart and really liked the artwork. I might just have to double dip and have the real thing. My 3 year old boy loves them too...
I just makes mad that they never finished the series and allowed the kids to get back home!!!
Oh well, it was a great cartoon!!!!
