What Song Would You Want "The Disney Channel Stars"

I've noticed that on the PE releases there are music videos done by "The Disney Channel Stars", I really enjoyed the "Dream is a Wish" version and the video I thought was fun.

I know they've done one for The Lion King PE release and with the upcoming Peter Pan PE and others, I wonder will the group cover another classic song?

Do you like the covers or do you hate them? Personally I think they are interesting and as a Disney Channel watcher it's nice to see some of the show's stars singing and having a good time.

I'd like to hear what you guys think first and then I'll reply with my own answers.

Maybe they will do "When You Wish Upon a Star" when Pinocchio is released on DVD in 2008.

Well, if you've noticed, they've only been releasing music videos on the October PE's. I doubt we will see any sort of video on the Peter Pan PE, let alone one done by the DCCOS, which is a crying shame, because Peter Pan is my favorite movie and I would like it to get the attention it deserves.

I agree with you, though. I highly enjoy the music and videos that the Disney Channel stars and starlettes come up with. "A Dream Is A Wish" is one of my favorites. :D

I can see the DCCOS creating a video for Jungle Book. Although, this time we would only see the casts of Hannah Montana, Suite Life, and perhaps That's So Raven. Phil is over, so they're all out, which is sad because Aly Michalka is really good. Raven is also coming to an end to make way for Corey's spin-off, so we may see those cast members instead of Raven and friends. It would be cool to see the Naturally, Sadie and Life with Derek casts on the videos, but those shows haven't garnered nearly as much attention as the others.

I enjoyed "The Circle of Life" for The Lion King, but "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" for Cinderella wasn't as appealing to me.

I wasn't really a fan of Ashley Tisdale's "Kiss the Girl," but I did like the Jonas' Brother's "Poor Unfortunate Souls." I was really upset to find that the Jonas' Brother's music video wasn't on TLM Platinum Edition DVD, yet Tisdale's was.

I'd like for them to make one for Peter Pan mainly for the purpose of seeing what they'll come up with. Whether I like it or not is another question, but it's worth a shot.

So you'd rather it get a crappy fluff music video instead of using that disc space for something better?

Well, I don't think it would be so crappy. As I said, I rather like the videos.
If you feel you must put it like that, then yes, I want crappy fluff.

Yeah I actually like those DCCOS music videos..maybe because I watch the Disney Channel all the time lol  I was hoping they would do one for The Little Mermaid with Under the Sea instead of just Ashley's Kiss the Girl.

But Anyway...for Peter Pan: PE I would like to see a DCCOS with The Second Star to the Right..I didnt really like the Ryan Cabrera version..

Actually Life with Derek is getting more attention latley..unfortunatley it wouldnt be apart of DCCOS as is because its not an original Disney Channel show and is shot in Canada, which is why none of the actors have done any promotional stuff for the Disney Channel.

The only musical number I would want the Disney Channel stars to perform would be their own funeral marches.

The day Disney stops putting crap like this on their DVDs is the day I'll be happy!

The CoS music videos are one of my guilty pleasures. Although they're far from great (A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes and Circle of Life are really enjoyable for me at least), they still manage to give it a decent take. I had hoped they would've done one for Part of That World, just to see how it sounded. But, no, we get stuck with Ashley Tisdale.

I could really see them doing one for "When You Wish Upon A Star" when the PE of Pinocchio, or perhaps "I Wanna Be Like You" when Jungle Book PE is released.

I figure by that time we'll have the singing cast of Hannah Montana for sure, perhaps also the cast of Cory in the House, maybe some other shows that pop up between now and then.

I really loved all the singers in the "Dream is a Wish" version and thought the song as a whole turned out very nice.

"Dream is a wish" on Cinderella was okay, but I actually don't like any of the CoS videos. They're too, hhmm, pop music like for me, and I like the Disney songs more in the classical way.
I thought Tisdale's video was awful, that girl's voice just isn't strong enough.
The "Part of your world" Jodi Benson one ould have been a better choice.

I'd be really cool if they could do a song for 101 Dalmations, but we'll probably get Lalaine from Lizzie McGuire on it, as we've seen with Ashley Tisdale on the TLM DVD. They'd do I Wanna Be Like You well, as well as When You Wish Upon A Star, as TheNikki has said. Yeah, by that time, we'll not only have Hannah Montana, and Cory in the House on it, the HSM cast will be on it, as will Aly and AJ, plus the Stevie Sanchez cast. And Christy Carlson Romano should be in it again because Kim Possible is back on again. For trivia fans, Jake Thomas (Matt in Lizzie McGuire) will be in the cast of Cory in the House, Kyle Massey's new show- both the annoying younger brothers in the shows. Jake Thomas has released his own album, with about 10 songs on it. I never knew that til I searched Cory in the House on TV.com. He should be in the COS. In fact he should've been in it when Hilary was in it.

I think they've all been pretty crappy..... The Little Mermaid ones weren't so bad, but I'd prefer if they had real artists performing the songs.

I wouldn't have a problem with them if they weren't taking up space that could better be served with actually informative extras. The PE's have been dumbing down since the release of the SNOW WHITE. That and the FANTASIA set are on par with the Treasures Collection.

I don't think the videos are taking place of informative extras. If they had planned on making them, they would regardless of whether there were music videos or not. I mean, even Snow White had Streisand's video (even though it's far above the CoS songs, it's still fluff to me). The videos are just a lazy way of making average Disney customers look like they're getting a lot when it's really nothing compared to what it could be.

But I do agree with everyone else that having renowned artists singing would be much better. In fact, I was kind of surprised Jessica Simpson's version of Part of That World didn't appear on Mermaid's DVD. Even she would be way better than Tisdale.

Well, Disney wouldn't be doing their job right if they used a non-Disney artist instead of using from their already large Circle of Disney Channel Stars. Disney loves cross-promoting their stars and they'd be missing out if they didn't put their stars faces on DVDs. It's probably cheaper for them to get DC stars instead of other stars as well. It's just a helpful leg-up that Disney provides them with, to get them out there. Jessica Simpson is already out there, she doesn't need more help.

I agree there, I actually think she did a decent job! :P
