With Snow White's 70th anniversary coming up in 2007 I was just wondering if Disney will re-release it to the theaters? I'd love to see it in a theater again filled with kids and adult laughter.

I doubt it. I wish they still did rerelease films theatrically. Believe it or not, it's still done in different parts of the world. But maybe, just maybe, it will be the next PE DVD release after Pinocchio.

Hey Disney re-released The Nightmare Before Christmas in theaters.. Ok in a very select few theaters that were able to show it in Disney Digital
3-D but it was still re-released. Also there is only one place I can think of that does re-release theatrical movies of Disney... The Disney El Capitain Theater that is in Hollywood. They have shown Cinderella and other films that were turned into Platinum Edition DVD's such as the Lion King. But that's the only place I could see Snow White being re-released to theaters is the Disney El Capitain Theater located in Hollywood CA.

Oh, right, I forgot about that. Shortly before a Disney film is released on DVD, they sometimes are shown at El Capitan. A few more recent films were also rereleased at IMAX. The least they can do is rerelease any films theatrically that will be coming to the PE canon. But I was actually talking about general releases to the public in general.

Considering that complex, edgy grpahics, etc have redifne how films should be presented...It's highly unlikely that S.White would get released to public theather cause most people go for films that have excitement written all over it. But I do agree that films like S.W, Jungle Book, Peter Pan, etc should reicieve theater treatment before PE.
write back please

I really wish it would get a Re-Release so I could see it in the Cinema again.
It is the earliest film I ever remember going to see in the Cinemas, My Grandparents took me to see it when I was 5 for the '93 Re-Release.

I think that in celebration of its PE DVD release, films should be rereleased into theaters.

Here in Paris, celebrating the exhibition on Walt Disney, the Grand Palais is playing Snow White, Pinocchio and Fantasia on the big screen and ... for FREE! If you're in Paris, be sure to catch it before the end of the exhibit on January 17th.

I guess most of you believe it will never happen. Did Disney make a policy statement to the fact that they are not going to be re-releasing their classics anymore in theaters? Or are you guys going by the fact that since starting the platinum series DVDs, none of the prior animated classic films have been released in the theaters? AND didn't they have a policy of re-releasing the movies every 7 years in the theaters and wondering when if anyone remembers or recalls what the last animated classic general release was in the theater and when.

I mean like before the DVD release, and they should show a preview, like "Be sure to look for this film on a new 2-Disc special edition DVD! With bonus features such as..."
