Nah, not the kind you wear. The kind that the company used to make back in the 30's, 40's and 50's.

So, are they gonna start making more with Mickey, Donald and Goofy?

Wow! Disney shorts is making a comeback! Woo hoo! I remember seeing the Disney animated shorts on TV since I was a kid.

According to the New York Times article, the title of the cartoon was "Mickey Mouse Disco" not "Disco Mickey", the New York Times made a mistake.

Great to see and musicradio - they did not make a mistake. You are confusing the short with the album.

Cool article, but this isn't exactly news, as Don Hahn told us that two months ago:

Still, it's nice to hear more on the matter.

Let's just hope they're good shorts with great stories.

If you read the article, they said they will be doing 2-D type, cgi type or combo of both. so they going by a diverse value.

Nice to see that this is happening and that it wasn't all hype and rumour. Good to see also that there will be a mix of "one off" shorts and shorts featuring the classic Disney characters. I look forward to seeing the Goofy short, what else could it have been but a 'How to'? :p

Or if you read the interview we posted nearly two months ago, you'd have known the same thing. Do forum people still not know there's a site beyond this forum? Sigh...

Hey, I have been going in every day that week looking for a ducktales review.

I was hoping we'd eventually get some new, theatrical shorts... if this is enough of a success, perhaps even some longer theatrical short subjects like "Mickey's Christmas Carol".

Yeah, my comment was a subtle hint to Disney about maintaining a 2D only approach for the future ;)

The thing I liked that was mentioned in the article was that "The new shorts will be done in traditional two-dimensional animation, computer graphics or a combination of the two media, depending on the story and the visual style".

It was also interesting that they made soemthing of how Walt used the short to refine the process for the feature efforts. After all, something like Snow White wouldn't have been possible without all the pratice!

thank goodness!
i like the mickey mouse works/HoM toons as well- but the classics are just that- classics.
looking forward to them...maybe we'll see more of the gang we dont normally see these days: Clarabelle Cow, Horace Horsecollar, Clara Cluck, Grandma Duck, ect. Maybe even some Morty & Ferdie???

I love the shorts, hopefully the colors will be rich and not like the types of shorts they showed on House of Mouse (no offense to anyone who made those or likes those) I just prefer the richer colors.

I wonder if these will only be shown before Disney attractions or can theaters lease them to show with any film? Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing the new Goofy one. It should be great if they stay within the classic style.

They will suck. Cause in today's enviroment of pc-ness, there's no way they can do good stuff.
