As far as I know, it's due in 2006...

As for segments, I've read things like The Little Match Girl, as well as a segment with kites, maybe, One by One, as well as a sequence with Sebastian from The Little Mermaid...though those could have changed. I assume they'll have about seven or eight segments, as with the last one, and it'll be interesting to see what music they choose. I loved Fantasia 2000. It's one of my favorites, so I have high hopes for this...

I hope they use Aaron Copeland, among others. I can't wait, though! :)

I have heard about it and read also. But I didn't know that Sebastian is going to be in it. It sounds like an excellent idea.
I am truly looking forward that film. I agree: Fantasia 2000 is also one of my favorites. It is an elegant film, very classy and, to me, PURE ART of animation with many different techniques and styles.

How about Fantasia 3000.

see all of the titles you come up with are a cross of different titles, at least in my head

Fantasia: The resurrection (makes me think of Phantasm and Alien resurrection)

Fantasia 3000 (makes me think of MST3000... we'd be watching fantasia while receiving a humorous commentary by the crazy people in the front row)

No,I meant as in old B-movie titles like Cinderella 3000,Dracula 3000(in development),and other remakes with the year 3000.Story pitch:Set in the year 3000,the movie would a furturistic look, with classical works like in the first two. Also, this sequel should use the Panavision 2.40:1 "scope" aspect ratio, and be an IMAX DOME movie.Just a suggestion.

Not a another fantasia. :o
At least in the future Disney will re-relase all three of them in a set.
I'll wait to get the set.
I didn't buy Fantasia 2000 yet because it was my least favorite. :D

Man do I love Fantasia and Fantasia 2000.
I have heard/read the rumoprs about a 3rd installment and as much as I'm looking forward to it I hate getting psyched up when we're still this far away.

If we use Fantasia 2000 as a guide, my guess is there would be at least one or more segments culled from the previous Fantasia films.

:?: Any guess on which segments would be strong candidates for re-inclusion?

The Dance of the Hours bit, with the hippos and crocodiles. Didn't that almost make it into Fantasia 2000, but was dropped...so maybe that would be a good candidate. It's certainly a lot of fun, probably my favorite piece from the original, actually.

Maybe they'll go with that...

That's what I've heard. I think it would be a good title, as good as any alternative I can imagine. Simple, to the point. Fitting...

But, not being released in the year 3000, It would sound too...futuristic. I don't think it would make sense. :)

But maybe 2006 is too clunky to fix on there. Maybe they'll add a word after the word fantasia, or something. We'll see, I guess, in a few years (I'm going to go crazy waiting).

Okay. I get it now. Sorry. :)

Interesting idea. Though I would hope for something more traditional; Fantasia 2000 had a perfect tone, for me, modern and elegant, and while they shouldn't mimic it, but should set their own tone (the creators) for the new one, I hope their story-telling and animation styles don't stray too far into the future...but, rather, reflect a multitude of times and places, stay rooted in the traditions that have been set (while expanding them at the same time).
