Hello all,

I am new to this site. I help run another Disney site called Realdisney.com and found you all just the other day. I like the activity here.

I too am a Disney DVD buff and was wondering how large your collections are? I currently have 243 Disney DVDs, not including my Song of the South Laserdisc transfer to DVD.

So what are your tallies and what are your favorites in your collection?

No idea of the number of Disney discs. Not over 200 though. Is that Disney DVDs or Buena Vista DVDs?

Anyhow best DVD content and presentation wise: Atlantis:The Lost Empire 2 disc Collector's Edition UK (in the shiny foil box - see here for images)

Best DVD overall (film and content): Hunchback of Notre Dame Special Edition R1.

I'm just beginning my collection, but so far I have (on DVD; I won't count the more numerous old and worn-out VHS tapes I have back home)...

Beauty and the Beast
The Emperor's New Groove
Fantasia 2000
Finding Nemo
Lilo & Stitch
The Lion King
Monsters, Inc.
The Rescuers Down Under
Robin Hood
Spirited Away
The Sword in the Stone
Mulan (have it on order at Borders)

My favorite is Lilo & Stitch, followed by The Rescuers Down Under. Lack of extras doesn't both me so much...as I'm wanting the film. Though I will spring for the Lilo & Stitch two-disc edition next year! I'm excited about that. Fantasia 2000 would round out my Top 3 Disney DVD's. I watch those the most, and happen to like them the most (and now I can't wait for Brother Bear to be released next spring; and for whenever they release Bambi, in a few years).

I need to get the original Rescuers, too, though I think the sequel is a good deal better. I still like the first. So my collection is growing...on its way.

I like the Atlantis Box. The UK gets all the cool boxes and Box art.

My DVDs are all Disney. Both Animated and Live Action. I have everything from Herbie and The Parent Trap to the Original release of Little Mermaid, Jungle Book and Mary Poppins in Limited Release.

I'm also a DVD junkie. If I own it and a better one comes out I get it. I already have 2 Mary Poppins and Bugs Life DVDs and Roger Rabbit. Now I'll be looking at 2 Alice in Wonderlands soon and a 3rd Mary Poppins.

That is just awesome! I'll be sure to visit the site!

And of course I know where you got that name from! I am without a doubt one of the biggest Nightmare Before Christmas fans in the world.
And a Burton-holic.

I usually go by the name Pumpkinhead, Mr. Pumpkinhead, or Jack Pumpkinhead. Nice to meet you!

Hmm, I'd guess that I have around 100 strictly "Disney" DVDs, though that's a pretty liberal estimate. Have about 25 of the animated classics, maybe...and about that many live action films, too...plus a few direct-to-videos. Actually, let me fire up DVDProfiler and give you more realistic numbers.

It tells me I have 74 Disney ones, and that's obviously not counting other Buena Vista departments (which would bring me over 100).

Some of my favorite Disney DVDs are the great 2-disc sets for the live action fare ("Vault Disney" and the more generically named double-disc Special Edition) and undoubtedly, the Pixar collector's sets. A Bug's Life was my first 2-disc set and now there's 9 Pixar discs with 6 awesome shorts, 5 awesome movies, 5 awesome commentaries, and a whole bunch of goodies. I think it's time for a Pixar marathon.

I only have 6. Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, Treasure planet, Snow White, Spirites Away, and Castle in the Sky. I have all of the animated classics and all the direct to videos except 10( not including my recordings) on VHS. I also have all of the other buena vista movies and the pixar movies that were produced or dostributed by disney.

I have around 90 strictly "Disney" DVDs, I think, with a number still on the way (The 4 new Treasures, Pirates, Fun & Fancy, LK1.5, Alice, and a few others). So I guess by January or so, the figure will be about 100. Give or take.

And welcome to the forum, ArtOfDisney. Your site is pretty groovy.

Great collections all. Sorry if this has been done before, but I'm new to the site and was curious.

I wish they would release many of the old Walt Disney Presents as well. I like to see the classic stuff with Walt in it.

If you count The Ultimate Toy Box and the Fantasia Anthology as one title each, I have 29 Disney DVD's which will become 30 with my purchase of Pirates of the Caribbean next month.
