Flanger-Hanger: While listening to his number one (and only one) album last night I realized we, the people on this fourm have failed to recognize the birthday of one of the most infulential, handsome, modest, and smartest person of our time........Professor Ludwig Von Drake. Who is now celebrating his 45th birthday.
Ludwig Von Drake: Yes, zat is correct mister Flanger-Hanger. By the way what is Flanger Hanger mean anyway? Does it mean you hang from buildings while flanging? Or is it just random gibberish like the stuff the type up on this Ultimatedilly.com fourm or whatever it is called.
Flanger-Hanger: Ultimate Disney, professor
Ludwig Von Drake: Ah yes, mister Diz-ney the guy I employed for a television show in the 1960's (which by the way was the most outrageous decade yet)
Flanger-Hanger: but didn't mister Disney Hire...Oh never mind. Would you like to hear what people on this fourm would like to say about you.
Ludwig Von Drake: Oh yes! Very much so! Of course they should know all about me from school.
Flanger-Hanger: No they don't tell us about you.
Ludwig Von Drake: What?! What kind of nonsense do they teach you kidz in school thse days? Probably more about that Vault Disney guy!
Flanger-Hanger: yes, well, um....Would anyone on this fourm like to share some thoughts they have on the professor?

I recently bought the Ludwig Von Drake album on iTunes and love it. I've had "The Spectrum Song" for a while and it's one of my favorite Disney songs. So to quote the professor: "What ever happened to just plain lavender blue dilly-dilly-dilly... silly?"

I remember Ludwig Von Drake when he appeared on every Disney TV show from the 60's starting with "An Adventure in Color" with "Donald in Mathmagicland".
He also appeared in "Kids Is Kids" (aka "Donald Duck Quacks Up"), "A Square Peg In a Round Hole" (aka "Goofing Around With Donald Duck"), "A Rag, A Bone and a Box of Junk" and a few others. Paul Frees did the voice of Von Drake before he did the ghost host in the "Haunted Mansion" attraction.
Happy 45th birthday to Ludvig Von Drake.
He was also in an episode of

Ludwig Von Drake was also in an episode of Ducktales. I believe it is on the new Ducktales Volume 2 DVD 3-disc set. It is where he tells Launchpad that the Harpies flying around are a Figments of Ze Imaginaztion. It had something to do with a Golden Fleece. I can't right off the top of my head think of the name of the Episode but he was in Ducktales. He may have been in more but I am not sure.
Also I just did a search on Ludwig Von Drake and did you know that Doofus from Ducktales his last name is Drake is There a connection between the 2 of them?? Also below is a little history of Ludwigh Von Drake. He never did appear on Darkwing Duck according to the wesbite below.

I love Ludwig! I have a drawing of him hanging on my wall. Got it off Ebay years ago. It's supposed to be an animator's drawing from back in the 60s, and who knows, but it looks very authentic, done on the right kind of paper and all, and looks old. Anyways, I wish this birthday would bring us some of his Wonderful World of Color episodes on DVD, but I guess not. I just hope they come out in the future. I'd especially like to get the show specific ones like Carnival Time, but I'd even like to have those shows that were mostly old animation with his hostings cut in, like Ludwig's rendition of "Mickey and the Beanstalk." Sure, I already have "Fun and Fancy Free," but his hosting of it was just so great! I'm really glad that he hasn't been totally forgotten by the folks at Disney, appearing again in all those other shows! Maybe it's the fact that he was introduced in the 60s, but just hearing his voice reminds me of old trips to Disney World as a kid! Actually, ha, I think it's because he would come out a lot on the Disney Radio Station you could pick up as you got nearer to the Orlando area.

I love Ludwig. I think I remember him doing intros to classic shorts on occasion. I had a tv special on tape called Disney's Day Off. I think he did an intro for Reason and Emotion, and a few others...but I don't really remember.
