I'm going to France in 2 weeks, and wanted to pick up some Disney DVDs when I'm over there. Just the Disney Classics though! I was wondering if there were any ones I should particually look out for-------the Peter Pan one has really caught my eye, is that still in print??? Are any of the Platinums still on release over there, and if they are, do they have any extra stuff compared to the the UK versions?
Any help would be lovely!

Certenly not unless you want the silent film or the cover art and I also found this:

Last I saw, the French Peter Pan was going for stupidly high prices on the Amazon.Fr site. So I would say Yes, if you can get it for a reasonable price. No if you can't.

All of these are out of print in France, and it's been a while. Even the one you said weren't. The Lion King and Beauty and The Beast were part of the Platinum line like in the US and are long unavailble.
Actually, you are gonna be disapointed because France used to have exclusive beautiful packaging but they are all OOP, and the ones that are still on the shelves are exactly the same you'd buy in the UK.
The 2 not OOP titles that have a digipacks are the recent Cinderella and The Little Mermaid. However, these are far from extraordinary and far from what Disney France use to do...

A few outstandingly beautiful covers there.
A bit off-topic now, but years ago when I was striving to complete the "classics" on laserdisc I got French editions of "The Fox and the Hound", "The Black Cauldron" and "Mulan". Sometimes one will do anything to complete a collection, I guess.
This also suggests that there must be something special about the French Disney market...

I've just come back from France, and got some interesting DVDs!!
*In Paris, there was a DVD exchange store, and my word! The DVD's I got! Peter Pan Special Edition, Pocahontas Special Edition, Beauty and the Beast Special Edtion (with the beautiful cover), and The Little Mermaid: 2 Disc Special Edition, and the 1 disc version.
*In duty free, they had these strange packages. They were like when you have magazines packaged up, but instead of a magazine, they had Disney Dvds, with a poster! They had other companies DVD's , but I was only loking at Disney. They had Mulan 2 Disc Special Ed, for 9.95 euros! The others were Mary Poppins Sp Ed, Tarzan Sp Ed, Alice in Wonderland Sp Ed, and loads of Mickey ones, especially House of mouse and Xmas specials.
* I was shocked at how much France had, and very jelous! I gues it could be because they have Disneyland Resort Paris?
Has anyone had as much success as I did in France?!! I am a very happy person!
