Toy's R Us - 2 Disney DVDs for $12

I opened up my paper today to see that Toy's R Us is having a 2-day sale ( Nov. 17 and 18 ) on a lot of things. One thing I noticed was an ad that reads:

"2 Disney DVDs for $12
Over 30 DVDs to choose from in store.
Regular price applies when only buying one. In Store Only."
[Then an image of Classic Cartoon Favorites: Extreme Music Fun, CCF: Extreme Adventure Fun, Life-Size, Miracle, The Country Bears, Inspector Gadget 2, The Parent Trap, Raising Helen.]

My story...
I went to Toy's R Us and picked up "Monsters, Inc." and "A Bugs Life" and went to the register. The DVDs didn't ring up for the lowered price, so the sales person calls over the manager and they say those aren't part of the offer. I show them the ad and point out the "Over 30 DVDs" part and say these are Disney DVDs. They still say they aren't on the list as part of the promotion and the transaction gets voided. I ask to see a list of the titles that are part of the promotion... and the manager can't find it after looking on the comptuer for a few minutes and printing out stuff! o_o

She underlines 4 titles on some stuff she printed out and then says the other 8 are the ones on the ad.
I say, "That's not over 30 DVDs. Can you call your district manager?"
Then she says, "Our district manager is on vacation this week."
So I reply, "Your dictrict manager is on vacation during a PlayStation 3/Wii launch week?"
That kind of left her speechless and annoyed. They knew I come in all the time, so they caved and gave me the offer! Woohoo!

Anyway, not sure that'll work for other people, but if there are any Disney DVDs that you need, then you might want to check Toy's R Us before the sale ends.

Good for you! I'm sick of having problems with retailers and their crooked deals, and it happens all the time around here! Especially at Circuit City and Best Buy! And they never cave in at those two stores, no matter how wrong they are!

Well from the looks of it, it sounds like the DVDs that are part of the sale are the lousy films or the ones that barely makes good DVD sales. It's no surprise to me that Pixar films are not part of the deal cuz they make money.

Well, what do you expect for 2 for $12? You're not going to see films like Aladdin and Bambi in there anytime soon.
