Maybe someone should take alomg their wave 4 copies of the Treasures, then all of the Treasures DVDs will have Roy's signature on them!

Cool! I'm going to try my best to make it.
It sucks that these signings are usually in the middle of the day, on weekdays. I'll have to go during my lunchhour.

I hope you don't actually have to buy the True Life Adventure sets right there at J&R Music World, I looked them up there at their website and it says they are available for the low price of $29.99. I think that I can get them cheaper than that elswhere. But I know from going to other signings that sometimes the stores where they are at will only let you get things signed that you actually bought there that day. Hmmmm...

They did want you to buy your True Life Adventure DVDs at J&R Music World but it was okay because they were only $24.99 in the store.
Anyway, I got to the store pretty early and had to wait around a while but I was first in line for Roy. He was a bit late since he was eating lunch with his daughter and he thought that the signing was going to be at 6PM instead of 12:30. Oops!
He was very cool and signed all four of the TL sets and my Fantasia Anthology set and three certificates from the Treasures that lacked his signature. (Thanks for the idea ichabod!) I also had him sign the Walt: The Man Behind the Myth DVD.
I asked a few questions, some he didn't know the answer to, he said "You're asking the wrong guy on that one."
I asked about releasing So Dear to My Heart here on DVD. He seemed annoyed that it wasn't and siad "It should have been, I don't know why they didn't."
I asked what all was going to be on the Destino DVD since its a 7 minute short. He said they are going to have a documentary about how it was made and a documentary about the collaboration between Disney and Dali.
I asked about the possibility of releasing Song of the South on one of these Legacy sets and he knocked on the nearest peice of wood and said "I'm hoping they agree to it." So it sounds like he is really pushing for it. I think the Legacy sets would be the perfect outlet for the film. Maybe if the fans really started writing in to the right people it might help the process along?
Anyway, thats about it, I don't remember much else at the moment since I got up at 4 am and I just got home a few minutes ago. It was fun and the NYC World of Disney store was pretty cool.

I also attended the True-Life Adventures DVD signing in Manhattan. It was such a wonderful experience. I even got him to sign my
Snow White Platinum edition DVD insert. I told him he could sign it wherever he wanted. He decided to sign the bottom of the insert because, according to him: "I wasn't going to sign on her face, she is Snow White, you know". He was very nice; I was very happy to have met him.

I was also in the front of the line. You were the person talking to the photographer. Behind you was a woman, then a man, then me- the teenage boy standing next to the woman in the fur coat.

Eisner might have stopped Roy's signature being printed on them, but that won't stop a Disney fan!
Did anyone ask him if the
People and Places series (being akin to the TLAs) would be coming?

Yeah I saw you! There was actually two women behind me in line, the first was DisneyDVDFAN's friend and then there was another woman behind her who was trying to get ahead of me, lol. I was like "No way, I got up at 4 am and have been waiting here since the store opened!" Sometimes its just the idea of it, you know? I was wondering if there were any other UDers in line! Now I know!

Yes, your friend seemed very nice. She approached me right away and told me her name and we chatted for a bit. She was worried about getting Roy to sign the sets in the best place for you. I got the little guide map things signed and suggested that to her. I don't know if thats where she got them or not. After I got mine, I was looking for the photographer because we were going to exchange emails, but I couldn't find him. He said he was going to send me copies of the pics he was taking which would have been cool.

Maybe your friend remembers who he was working for because I can't.
Anyway, its cool we got to meet Roy, its a shame we didn't have Ultimate Disney.com pins or t-shirts so we would have known who we were!
Also...Song of the South on Disney Legacy series (hopefully, Roy's trying) Hooray!

Cool yeah she mentioned you and the LADY

anyway she got them signed on the card inside so i guess she took your advise
I will ask her if she remembers his name and where he works and let you know
Oh one question she had for me was why wasn't the signing done at the disneystore in NY instead of JR ? anyone not to up to date on the politics of it all ;(
thanks

Yeah, that's the question I asked there as well. Seems weird to have him in J&R Music World instead of the World of Disney store. J&R was okay, but the DVD store is like in the basement, didn't seem like the type of a place for a signing.

That's really cool. I remember seeing you. It just seems so odd, how so many of us were there and did not even know it. "It's a Small world after all"
