Why I Am So Grumpy!!!!

Dear Friends:

I have just realized that I have been pretty grumpy around here lately, and there is a good reason for it.

Those of you who know me, and I do talk with quite a few of you on IM pretty regularly, know that I have been having serious medical problems with my feet.

October 7th, 2006, I went to a different foot doctor for a second opinion on the problems I have been having, and he immediately stuck me in the hospital and did surgery on both of my feet. (I have severe callouses from years of wearing the wrong type of shoes - I thought).

I have been off of work, and basically off my feet ever since, and there is no end in sight. (I can't even wear shoes or socks. I have to wear this horrible hospital shoes.) Could be a very weak holiday season around the Junkie household this year.

Going back to the beginning - two years ago I went to a Podiatrist (foot doctor) because I was having severe pain in my feet. He proceeded to tell me that I had a severe infection in one of the callouses on my left foot. My right foot wasn't as bad, but he insisted on doing some minor incisions and he placed me off work for two weeks. Then I went back to work, and the same problem reoccurred. I was off work for a week, again. The medication he was giving me was evidently not working. Well to make a long story short, I went to this new doctor for a second opinion and here is what he says.

I have a form of "Coli Staphococcus" infection in both feet. Predominantly the left one, and without proper treatment, I could lose my foot or feet. So I have been under really 'kick-butt' drugs for the past six weeks, and had a return to work day of November 20th.

Last Friday I went to see my new doctor and he has to re-open the incision on my left foot, and then he sent me to an Internal Medicine Specialist, who promptly drained me of five gallons of blood for a battery of tests. I was told that if any of them came back positive that it would mean hospitalization and possible removal of the infected limb or limbs.

I went back to my foot doctor yesterday, and most of the lab tests have come back negative, so I am so far in the clear, but am off work now until at least December 1st.

So, please take all of my posts with a little grain of salt, and know that this guy is really a big old teddy bear at heart, and means no harm when he is grumpy.

Hope you all understand and accept my apologies here.

Needless to say, I am getting all caught up on watching a lot of movies.

I'm so sorry, you don't feel too well!!!
It sounds really awful, and I hope you'll be fine again soon!!
Take care!!!
It's so sweet that you apologized for being grumpy although I never thought you were.
There are people on the boards who are grumpy all the time, and for no reason at all. You have a reason.
It wasn't necessary to apologize, but it was a very nice thought!!!!
That shows you're not grumpy :D .
Get well!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've noticed you've seemed a little irritated in some of your posts lately, it's very nice of you to let us know why and apologise. I hope your feet it better as soon as possible. It really is a horrible place to get an infection, considered feet are something that we use nearly all of time!

I understand how you're feeling about your long-term pain of your foot and your unexpected posts. I know its sad to put off work for couple of weeks (and I know you love your job), but once the pain is gone away for good you'll be on your feet again.

Appology accepted. I hope you're feeling better, DVDJunkie. God speed, DVDJunkie. God speed. :)

And in a bit of weird and crazy randommness and an attempt to lighten the mood and bring a smile or a confused look to everyone's faces, what Bill's letter would say in another universe where being awesome was a physical ailment:

Dear Awesome Friends:

I have just realized that I have been pretty awesome around here lately, and there is a good reason for it.

Those of you who know me, and I do talk with quite a few of you on the totally awesome IM pretty regularly, know that I have been having serious medical problems with my awesomeness.

October 7th, 2006, I went to a different awesome doctor for a second opinion on the problems I have been having, and he immediately stuck me in the hospital and did surgery on both of my awesome muscles. (I have severe callouses from years of wearing the wrong type of awesome pajamas - I thought).

I have been off of work, and basically off my awesomeness ever since, and there is no end in sight. (I can't even wear awesome shoes or awesome socks. I have to wear this horrible pretty-good shoes.) Could be a very weak holiday season around the AwesomeJunkie household this year.

Going back to the beginning - two years ago I went to a Awediatrist (awesome doctor) because I was having severe pain in my awesome muscles. He proceeded to tell me that I had a severe infection in one of the callouses on my left awesome bone. My right awesome bone wasn't as bad, but he insisted on doing some minor incisions and he placed me off work for two awesome weeks. Then I went back to work, and the same problem reoccurred. I was off work for an awesome week, again. The awesome medication he was giving me was evidently not working. Well to make a long and awesome story short, I went to this awesome new doctor for a second awesome opinion and here is what he awesomely says.

I have a form of "Kickassus Espiritus Null Awesommus" infection in both awesome muscles. Predominantly the left awesome one, and without awesome treatment, I could lose my awesomeness entirely. So I have been under awesome 'kick-butt' drugs for the past six awesome weeks, and had a return to work day Awesomber 20th.

Last Friday I went to see my new awesome doctor and he has to re-open the incision on my left awesome muscle, and then he sent me to an Awesome Medicine Specialist, who promptly drained me of five gallons of awesome spirit for a battery of awesome tests. I was told that if any of them came back awesomely positive that it would mean hospitalization and possible removal of the awesome muscles entirely.

I went back to my awesome doctor yesterday, and most of the lab tests have come back negative, so I am so far in the clear, but am off work now until at least December 1st.

So, please take all of my posts with a little grain of awesomeness, and know that this guy is really a big awesome dude at heart, and means no harm when he is not awesome.

Hope you all understand and accept my awesome apologies here.

Needless to say, I am getting all caught up on watching a lot of awesome movies.

:P

After this, the word awesome just doesn't seem so...awesome anymore.

I knew that Bill already had problems with his feet since he told me that he's going have to stay at home and not work. I'm sorry that I haven't been around Bill but MSN was acting weird so now we can chat on MSN Messenger this week since the problem is fix. Yeah I understand that college students and kids on UD don't usually have money for DVD's that cost $40 plus shipping. So thanks for changing my mind on some DVD's.
Later Bill hopefully you can get to work earlier then December 1st.

I would make the obvious "back on your feet" joke, but it's been done enough already :D . I'll simply wish you good health a swift recovery.

I sincerely hope it was less than 5 gallons or even 5 quarts as our bodies only have 6 quarts (1.5 gallons) in them!

In any case, I hope all goes well. My mother fought diabetes for years and years including foot problems and I know how debilitating that kind of issue can be. Get well and take care of yourself.

Get well soon Mr. Bill!

I know foot surgery stinks!
Four of my toes needed surgery and I am sure you are in more pain then I was. That is why God made pain pills lol.
They were my friends for a while. ;) :D
