I already preordered Cars (widescreen) through Best Buy when I bought "The Fox and the Hound: 25th Anniversary Edition". Hopefully they have lithographs, that would be cool. Best Buy usually does do a gift with purchase for movies like this, so it wouldn't surprise me.

Sounds good, but now I'm not sure whether or not to go to Target or Wal-Mart for the bonus discs.

Then again, I could buy both, and sell my extra copy of Cars somewhere else. That would give me a 3-disc edition, of course the 3-disc edition would be nowhere near as expansive as a proper release would be...

Lol, I might do what Escapay mentioned just to feel special. I could get full screen at one, widescreen at the other. Then I'd have FOUR DISCS BWAHAHA! But then disc one and two would have the same features... and three and four would be fairly light... meh, wouldn't have to do it if Iger wasn't screwing us over. :x

"Always blame the head honcho", that's my motto when anything goes wrong. ;)

I know! Disney fans simply got the shaft with this lame-o one disc version of Cars. Blah!

You read my mind, Escapay! I'm going to try to get Wal-Mart to price match the Circuit City $13.99 price, so I can get it with the Bonus DVD there, and then go to Target, as well, and pick it up with that Bonus DVD.

The last time I used a price match at Wal-Mart, is was for Desperate Housewives: The Complete Second Season. I used the Target price of $34.99 or $35.99 (I can't remember which), and Wal-Mart matched the price and I got their Bonus DVD!

Of course, the main caveat of buying two copies just for the bonus discs is that when the proper 2-disc DOES come out, it'll likely already contain those features from the bonus discs.

Knowing Wal-Mart, a majority of their bonus discs will be with the crappy fullscreen disc, while Target will have an even mix (though as of late, I've seen many a fullscreen disc at the once-balanced-in-aspect-ratios store).

Wow, WalMart does Price Match!? Think of all the extra money I coulda saved! Well technically, I usually don't go for their extra discs/misc., just the one disc, so the price is fine... but this would rock. :D

Too true. Too true.

I will say that when you go to the link that is provided for Wal-Mart, it does state that the Bonus DVD is available with the Widescreen version. I'm assuming they will also have it for the Fullscreen version, but, at least the link does state Widescreen!

Yeah, I noticed that.

I think I'll wait until the 7th, though. My Wal-Mart tends to accidentally price any movie with a store-exclusive bonus disc as the same price as it normally would be for first-week-sales. So I can easily get the 2-disc Cars for $13.99 or $14.99, then likely pay $19.99 for the 2-disc Cars at Target.

Yes, because, every single little bad thing that happens with the company is all Iger's fault, before him, it was Eisner, by releasing 1-Disc set of Cars, just think of how high the suicide rating has gone up.

Weren't people a few months ago hailing him as a God because he bought Pixar?

I posted this in the other thread, but I might as well post it here.

In New Zealand the only giveaway/exclusive, is at the Warehouse where they are giving away this poster:

Whitcoulls may have cards or something, but they don't advertise those.

Yep, they do Price Match. I rarely go there for DVD's, but, I REALLY wanted that Bonus DVD for Desperate Housewives: The Compete Second Season. The crazy thing is, it was marked at $47.98, or something ridiculous like that, and they did the price match for around $35.00, and they didn't say a thing about NOT price matching because their version had the Bonus DVD. Just to be on the safe side, if they do not accept the Circuit City price of $13.99, because it's not listed directly on the image for Cars, then I'll take an ad that has a lower price than Wal-Mart's listed directly on the Cars DVD. Just to be on the safe side, you know? ;)

The captain does go down with his ship.

If Iger is at fault for anything, it's giving in to the new studio practices of releasing a paltry single disc now, and a packed two disc later to promote something else. Just because Disney's starting to do this doesn't mean it's their idea, nor is it entirely Iger to blame. 20th Century Fox is the biggest offender of this practice which pisses a lot of DVD collectors off.

Cars came out in Australia two days ago! :D Yay! We get things early for once! :P However, even though it came out on the 25th, I still haven't bought it, because Australia has a few deals and I'm not sure where to get it, as I don't know what deal I want.

JB Hi Fi:
If I buy it here I get a Slipcover, and get it $6 cheaper.
Image

EzyDVD:
If I buy it here, I get a free key-ring, a collectable Disney Pixar DVD Tin and its a 2-discer.

Where do you guys think I should buy it from, JB Hi-Fi, or EzyDVD?

Um, if I were you, I'd be ALL over that EzyDVD deal! I LOVE that tin, and it's a 2-Disc set! Plus, as Escapay would tell you, SAVE A TREE! Meaning, don't go for the slipcover version. Although, I admit that I don't mind the slipcovers, at all. However, that TIN is MUCH better!

As much as I love Disney movies with slipcovers, I'd go for the 2-disc version with the collectable tin.

Just as Escapay hates Slipcovers, I hate tins :P Tins are where grandma's keep old cookies, not where you put a DVD  Anyhoo, I think I'll go with the EzyDVD deal and sell the tin on U.D's trade forum. Thanks MMO! :D
Btw, the reason I asked a question with such an obvious answer is because EzyDVD's 2-Discs are limited, but I live near a very large EzyDVD retailer, so maybe they'll have some left, either way, I would still get the tin, as they aren't limited.

Yes, I would certainly pick up the EzyDVD deal. If you do happen to get it, and want to sell the tin, I would be interested in it. Just E-mail or PM me, and we could work out the details. If not, that's cool, too. I just think you shouldn't pass up such a great deal, with the 2-Disc sets being limited.

Plus, once you get the DVD, you can tell us what exactly is on that bonus disc. :D
