This time from Spain (sorry I can't find any bigger)
Hercules

I really like the Hercules cover - much better than the UK and American release. I really must show the UK cover, as it is terrible - basically just a floating head cover we see of often on live action films.

I hate it!
Rescuers Down Under

Similar to the UK release, but not quite the same.
The Sword In The Stone

The UK release zooms in on the young Arthur (in a slightly different pose) and doesn't show Merlin at all.
Oliver And Company

This is the original poster artwork? The UK release show Oliver being hugged by Jenny.
The Fox and the Hound

Again, similar but not identical to the UK release.
Pete's Dragon

Don't like this one - the UK is much better.

The covers you have shown for Hercules, Rescuers Down Under, Fox and Hound and Oliver and Company have all been used in the UK as video covers. The cover from Sword in the Stone has also been used but in a different way, it shows the same image but Wart is on the front cover and the bit with Merlin is on the back. You can see them all (bar RDU) at amazon.co.uk
As for my own opinion, I liked the US limited Edition cover for Hercules the best, couldn't tell you why though.
The film that always gets horrible covers is "Alice In Wonderland", the past two covers that have been used in the UK are awful! I hope when and if we get a "Special Edition" we get a nice cover.

If you guys like custom covers (R1 only , sorry internationals

), go to
http://68.80.89.117/cgi-bin/chrislist.exe?
The guy who made these, Chris Elders, is extremely talented. In fact, check out the hercules ones. I like both of those better than any of the hercules covers i've seen all over the world.
heres one of them...
heres another:

Yeah, his second Hercules is good - better than any release I have seen. But I think the Spanish cover comes close. Was that one of the original posters? His other work seems to be taken from the original poster artwork.
Love his 'Hunchback' cover too - that sums up the film perfectly, more so than any of the 'jolly' covers Disney has used to date. I prey that's on the "Special Edition" whenever it's released.
Like the Treasure Planet cover too - luckly it's close to my French Treasure Planet/Treasure Island set

I'm not too big a fan of the big head Hercules cover art, but that's what I have on my GC case.
I like the Oliver artwork you posted better than the US one, Jenny hugging Oliver. Poster artwork is kind of cooler.

I like the covers of that guy too but I think they have too much text on the backcovers.
The Idea of a complete 'animated Classics' Collection is great, but I think this ones are not perfect.

Hunchback was easily the best and I couldn't agree more, I hope thats the picture for the Special Edition.

Hey Hennie, great site - you've really put a lot of work in to researching the early releases.
And look people: The Neatherlands get "So Dear to My Heart" on DVD - no waiting for a "suitable release window" for our European friends!

The Mulan cover is SO cool! I thought the US one was ok, cause I really like the effect they did on the sword, but that one kicks the US one to pieces!!!
WHY IS DISNEY RETARDED AND NOT GIVING THE US NICE COVERS?!?!?!?!

Wow - the Japanese cover makes "Hunchback II" look like a decent film. Why can't Disney US do that?
Got the Japanese "Peter Pan Anthology" on order (along with "The Jungle Book" - I'd rather pay to import a Japanese release than get stung by a bootleg on E-BAY - it's the only Disney animated film I'm missing now). I'm expecting the Japanese "Peter Pan" release to be the same as the French set - what little I've seen of the specs seems to agree - but with the Return to Neverland disc as well. Both should be shipped at the end of this week.

The Mulan cover and the Hunchback 1 cover rock.
I wish Disney put out more artsy covers like this here in the U.S.

I hope when Mulan and Hunchback get re-released they use those covers.
2099, would you be kind enough to put up some review's of Jungle Book and Peter Pan when you get them from Japan?

I'm not sure whether these covers have been used in the US but I love these covers for "Sleeping Beauty" that have been used in the UK.

This is the late 80's cover, simple yet classy.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... gory=35077
This is the 1996 re-release. A bit cartoony but all character's are shown. I like it.
http://images-eu.amazon.com/images/P/B0 ... ZZZZZZ.jpg
The same as the "Masterpiece" cover used in the US but I like it more than the 1 disc UK DVD.
I also love these 3 Pinocchio covers
In order their the late 80's, 94/95 re-release and bare bones 2000 DVD
