What Fairy Tales Do You Think Disney Will Make Into A Movie? And why? Or what would you like to see Disney make into a movie?

A more epic take on Jack And The Beanstalk would be cool.
And an animated Wicked musical would be amazing!

And, I know they're not fairy tales, but I could see Disney making interesting films based on more of Dickens' work, such as Great Expectations or A Tale Of Two Cities.

I thought Disney did a made for tv movie of Great Expectations.

I have never seen it and it is not for sale. So unless they do a newer version of it, but I think it is doubtful they would do it again, and since this one isn't even available on Dvd I am guessing it didn't do well.

I have heard that Wicked was great although I did not see it. What is it about, I heard it had to do with the Witches story in Wizard of Oz

I haven't seen it either, but it's like the story that happened before Dorothy dropped her house on the WWotE.
I think it tells the story how the WWotW became so evil and wicked.
I've bought the novel but haven't read it yet. But I think there's someone who can tell us more.
I've listened to the soundtrack and the songs are pretty amazing!!

It sounds like it would be better as a live action to me, to continue with the live action of the wizard of oz and return to oz which disney did.
I can't really remember any fairy tales from when I was little except the ones that disney made, but I heard Disney was going to do the Snow Queen does anyone know if that is still going to be made?

Wouldn't mind seeing them tackle The NeverEnding Story (despite it already being 3 movies, a shortlived tv series, and a cartoon).

That would be cool. You could make a great witch for that one. But I doubt it would be appropriate. Well, the witch wants to EAT them. I can't see Disney making this. But I think a Disney gingerbread house would be nice.

Wicked

"Wicked" would be wonderful as a disney animated musical. Although it isn't a fairy tale...

Wicked is the story of the friendship between the Wicked Witch of the West (Elphaba) and Glinda, the good witch of the north. The broadway version is much more lighthearted than the original book and I believe it would lend itself very well to animation. It would be great to see the musical sequences "Defying Gravity" "One Short Day" and "For Good" animated.

as for actual fairy tales, I want to see them do The Snow Queen or Hansel and Gretel.

well that didn't stop The Evil Queen to order Snow White's heart be put in a box. or Jafar from brandishing a dagger to stab Aladdin with. Give the audience a little more credit.

I defiently think Hansel and Gretel would be great. Is The Neverending Story a fairytale? I loved the first 2 but I don't think I have seen the 3rd.

Well they could fiddle with the story a bit and say want to turn them (I vote for Mickey and Minnie to play the parts) into gingerbread first, and then eat them.

LOL!

How about some princess ones that Disney hasn't covered?

Well, they already did a short of Mickey and Minnie as Hansel and Gretel, so I doubt they would do that again (with Mickey and Minnie I mean. Love the story, it'd be very interesting.

However, my vote would be for a feature length, traditional/serious 2D take on Red Riding Hood. And please don't say Hoodwinked already did that. Hoodwinked was a joke. It was entertaining to a certain degree, but it was a joke.

I'd also like to see Puss In Boots if they do it something like the Cannon Movie Tale version (which starred Christopher Walken as Puss). I used to have some great designs for a Puss played by Jack Nicholson.

Wicked would be very cool, or anything Oz related. I haven't seen Wicked or heard the music, but I knew about the book before it was a hit Broadway show. Still haven't read it either though, but I need to. Ha, my little sis is an actress who is currently going to the University where Chenowith went to, and she has had it up to here with Chenowith because they apparently talk about her like a god over there. My sis is not a fan of that vocal range (I forget what it is, soprano) because she says that's all they want for Broadway now and that it makes all the girls sound the same (my sis is an amazing singer, but has a lower vocal range and is a belter). She used to be big on the Broadway thing, but her experiences at college have made her much more interested in movie and television now. She's kind of gone anti-Broadway.

Personally, though I'm not a singer, I love the Broadway stuff and girls with high voices, ha. Though Chenowith CAN get pretty annoying to me (whenever she pops up in a movie in some bit part).

I would love to see Disney make a version of The Last Unicorn, the story would be so perfect for a Disney animation film. I know its isnt a fairytale but still a good story.

Then there is the symbol of all medieval fairytales! Little Red Riding Hood!!! I know it isnt a princess but neither is Mulan. LRRH is knows all around the world so it would be great to see Disney's take on such an old historic tale.

Rumpelstlistskin would be a good idea, too. There is at least a pretty good pricess in it, that Disney could merchandise
