Snow White Platinum DVD Question.

Ok, so I bought the SW Platinum Edition on eBay last year and it came as a bulky DVD case, the same as the Forrest Gump DVD. Well, I'm looking at eBay right now and there are normal DVD cases of the film. Is the one I got the correct version? If not, then I'm going to buy one of the correct ones from eBay. Thanks!

The DVD case is indeed bulkier. The two discs are held in two separate compartments altogether. Don't know quite how to explain it really but it's the only PE to use that packaging. Basically the one you have now is the correct one that was released.

Thanks! This one looks pretty real though, I'd like to have it since it would match all the other releases:

That one is also in the bulky packaging. It's just the angle that makes it look smaller in the picture. Disney never released a Snow White DVD in a regular slim case (at least not in R1).

Yea, if you want the regular packaging you'll have to wait till October 2008 when Snow White is currently expected to be re-released. If I was you I'd just wait till then seeing you have the first DVD set already.

Speaking of DVD cases, some time ago, my little sister's entire collection fell from 3 stories. The discs seemed to be okay, but we had to replace A LOT of the cases. The bad thing was, three of them were 2-disc cases, and one was a paper case, and we weren't able to find replacements for these in retail stores. Anyone know where 2-disc cases similar to the Disney ones can be found? Two of hers that were destroyed were Beauty and the Beast and Parent Trap (one black, one white, I believe), and a similar one for a Queen DVD set. They sell crappy dual disc cases around town I think, but we are trying to find ones like the originals. Any help by way of a website or retailer name where we could find 2 disc cases that are like the Disney ones would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

That DOES look authentic! It's my guess that it's just the angle of the picture or something that is making this DVD LOOK slimmer than it actually is. I mean, it doesn't look like a bootleg and the seller really is pushing the point that it's not. Of course, that's no gaurantee...

You can tell it's fake because if you look closely at the picture "deleted scenes and songs" is repeated twice.

What ARE they going to include with it this next re-release? I thought they did an excellent job with
Snow White and I can't think of anything new for them to throw in...unless they want to make blu-ray style.

The last release was very satisfactory. However, it was released at a time where DVD was still fairly new and not everyone owned a DVD player yet. Therefore many people missed out and will be picking this up for the first time, so even if they changed nothing, it would sell like hot cakes. However, it's pretty much a given it will have new games for kids, a new music video, possibly a new restoration, and probably a remade making of as a selling point for current owners. I'm also assuming that by this time, one of the new formats may be at a point where one is winning out and it is probably this would mark the first PE on blue ray or HDDVD or both.

which would make sense why Beauty and the Beast is the same. that's why I didn't get Sleeping Beauty, B/B & Snow White when they were first out because I didn't have a dvd player, so didn't make sense to purchase them. (BIG mistake). I ended up getting Snow White for 9.99 and Beauty/Beast for free, so sleeping beauty is the only one I need now
unless Sleeping Beauty will release in the next few years as well, then we're looking good and sitting pretty

That's definitely a bootleg. I don't care what anyone say's about the angle of the photo, it's clearly a slim single case. It's quite distressing to see that people are going to so much trouble to even copy the seals across the top of the discs, in order to flaunt bootleg discs. I think it's about time that studio's like Disney abandoned the vault idea, and made films that are as sought after as this available all the time. It's a shame that their marketing policy only ends up lining the pockets of unscrupulous dealers on Ebay, and hurting the real fans who love these movies.

It's a bootleg. It is not in the double alphapak case and there is no BVHE stamp in the back.

There should be a Stricter law against bootlegging DVDs.
