I read this article today...

http://entertainment.msn.com/news/artic ... ews=236202

In it it says the following...

Sir James Matthew Barrie bequeathed the copyright to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929, and it receives royalties from plays, books and other items that mention Peter Pan. Over the years, this has raised millions of pounds for the hospital. However, Barrie expressed the wish that the amount should never be revealed, so the hospital does not give figures.

It currently needs more than $281 million to replace dilapidated 1930s buildings, and for new equipment, medical research and providing accommodations for parents of young patients.

This could be the reason Dalmatians was pushed back and Peter Pan bumped up...so the hospital could get the royalties...Re-release of the Return to Neverland not far behind?

If that's true, I applaud Disney.

Even though Disney are not paying them money for their printed sequel "Peter Pan and the Starchasers" or for the Tinker Bell movie and Disney Fairies line?

See this thread for more information.

Oh well, at least Disney will ALWAYS have to pay GOSH money for their UK releases.

The reason it was moved forward was for the marketing synergy of releasing it with the first Tinker Bell movie.

simple reason why Peter Pan PE is coming next: Disney Fairies

want to push the hot new property brand? go to the source and get the original fairy along with all the new fairy tie-ins

But it would have been really nice of Disney to postpone 101 D, in favor of PP and raising money for that hospital. :) But sadly, I think this is not true and it's just because of the Tink movie and the fairies line.

i think i agree with everyone else. this is a delightful coincidence, and maybe disney will be able to brag about it later. who knows though, i'd like to think there are some good souls in coporate anything. but sadly, money makes the world go round!
