Tokyo's DisneySea opinions please

I've just returned from a crazy trip to Tokyo and visited both Disney parks. While I was very impressed by Tokyo Disneyland, I was massively disappointed with DisneySea. I'd heard such great things, especially about the Journey To The Centre Of The Earth ride and was far from impressed. There are really only 4 or 5 major rides and because of that the lines are always excessively long. And they are miles and miles apart from each other!

The theming of the park is incredible, especially the massive volcano mountain in the centre but beyond looking at the nice decorations around the rides and lands there really wasn't much to actually do.

I'd love to hear what other people think. Am I alone? Did anyone else feel it was a little disappointing?

I haven't been to Tokyo Disneyland yet, but I've always thought Disneyseas looked amazing. In particular, I've been dying to ride "Journey to the Center of the Earth." I'm sad to hear you didn't enjoy it. It sounds alot like the Animal Kingdom at Disney World. There are 5 main attractions that everyone can do and they are all spread so far apart. In the Florida heat and with the dense tropical plants all over the place, it is exceptionally humid.

You may not be alone, but you have to be with just a handful of people. I thought DisneySea was amazing, the attention to detail spectacular, truly a huge accomplishment by WDI. I spent two days in each park in Tokyo, and I wish I had more time to spend in TDS.

I can not wait to go again!

Oh I agree with you that the detail of the park was the best I've seen and was great to look at. The Mermaid Lagoon was simply amazing but in terms of there being things to do I was disappointed. We had trouble filling in a whole day.

Like I said I needed more than two, of course I did repeat my favorites. But there is plenty to do to fill a day.

I think you have every right to express your opinion, but I have to disagree with your thoughts of Tokyo Disney Seas. I thought that this particular park is perhaps the best themed park that the Imagineers have ever designed. And, I cannot agree with you about rides being separated by miles and miles of walking. I thought it was perhaps the best laid out park in terms of getting to one place to another. There was so much to do.

Once again I never said I didn't like the theming of the park!!! AHHH! Maybe the distance between each ride seemed longer because when I was there it was stinking hot and insanely humid.

You're so mean to DisneySea SambaDude!

I loved it!

The distance between rides was so intimate and useful.

And the BraviSEAmo show was, quite possibly and I say without Hyperbole, The Best Show I Have Ever Seen In My Entire Life.

Oh and the Tower Of Terror was so scary!
I'm never going to go in any sort of elevator again ever because of it!

DisneySEA is so necessary & fun I can't stop raving about it!

From all I've seen of DisneySea it's one of the best Disney parks--sur eit ould do with more rides but the same was said of Disneyland its first few years (don't get me started on Paris' Disney Studio or Hong Kong Disney) The attention to detail int he theming is stunning and I can't help but think that Calirnoans and French should be very annoyed they got their half assed designed new parks instrad of Sea. Did Oriental Land Company simbly give Disney more money??
