I'm reading Leonard Maltin's "The Diseny Films" and was hoping to watch each film made during Walt's time as I read about it. I already had many and have been able to tack down a few I was missing on ebay, but I'm having a hard time with some of the live action ones. I'm waiting for the True Life Adventure DVD sets, so I don't need any of those. The films I need are The Fighting Prince of Donegal, Westward Ho the Wagons!, Tonka, Almost Angels, Ten Who Dared, Emil and the Detectives, and The Legend of Lobo. I'm trying to do this as cost efficiently as possible. If anybody has them and wouldn't mind letting them go for a decent price, I would like to buy them off you. Also, I would pay for even just a copy of them. I don't care if it's the original. I just want to see the films. So if anybody has any of these films, or can point me in the right direction of how to get them for a good price, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

So far none of them are on Disney DVD, but you can hunt around e-bay for old VHS copies.

Also, for a list of what Walt-Era films are on Disney DVD, just check here, and consider 1967/1968 to be a cut-off date (since Walt died December 1966, while he still had a hand in some productions that came after his death).

Thanks for the information escapay. I know they aren't on DVD yet, and many of them have only been released to VHS once in the 80's in the white clamshell cases. Most of the titles were rental only and never sold in stores, which is why they are so expensive when found. It's not impossible to find them at a reasonable price, but "Emil and the Detectives" in particular runs around $100 and up. I've found some on ebay at a price much higher than I wish to pay, and others on Amazon marketplace at an even more absurd price, given that most people have never even heard of these titles and they are by no means classics. If any UD members have them and wouldn't mind either parting with them for a decent price or simply making me a copy, I'd be very greatful. I would pay $10 for a copy of any of them.

Nikki: Wild Dog of the North and Legend of Lobo were released on DVD from Anchor Bay. My father-in-law got them at Wal-Mart new for 6 dollars apiece.

I bought "Niki-Wild Dog of the North" on DVD for $10 on ebay, but "The Legend of Lobo" costs $50 and up on DVD. I would rather go VHS if it's going to be cheaper, but I can't even find it on VHS at the moment. Thanks for the suggestion, though. My local Wal Mart ran out of the Anchor Bay releases years ago.
