I'm going with Heaven's Light/Hellfire (even though I don't think they should be grouped together as the same song. Hellfire is such a breakthrough as far as new-age disney and going to that dark surreal place that they seem to be afraid to go to nowadays. And it had great vocals by the late, great Tony Jay.

def the Heavens Light / Hellfire song combo.

One of the prettiest songs on Quasis part & one of the coolest villian songs on Frollos part.

I went with Topsy Turvy, I always shake my thumbs at that song, or shimmy with my cat......when I was younger of course :shifty:
Plus I don't like Quasimodo's singing voice (Tom Hulce I think) he had to much vibrato in his voice, espiecially in 'Out There'.

Even though some people think that they should be grouped together, they are. I have the music book for the movie, for my clarinet, and they are grouped together. So technically they are grouped together, but some people, like you, and somewhat of me, think that they shouldn't.

I felt Out There was Quasimodo's powerful way of answering the call to join the human race; a man's way of reaching out to a world which has been going on seemingly without him all these years. He wants out of those same four walls and he won't be denied this time! When you think about it, he's really no different than you and me.

I think 'The Bells of Notredame' is the best, it's just so powerful, it also acts as a great opening song for the film.

Heaven's Light/Hellfire. Excellent contrast.

eh. As much as I like HoND, it doesn't have the greatest songs ever in a Disney movie but my favorites are Belles of Notre Dame and Topsy Turvy. Belles of Notre Dame becuase I think it's the most powerful song in the whole movie and Topsy Turvy cause it's just catchy. I also like Court of Miracles despite it's short length.

Favourites in order from best to worst:
1. Heavens light/Hell fire
2. The Bells of Notre Dame
3. God help the outcast
4. Out there
5. Topsy Turvy
6. The Court of Miracles
7. A Guy like you (so does not fit in with the rest)

I agree very much with BelleGirl's list--"Heaven's Light/Hellfire" is the best of the bunch, closely followed by "The Bells of Notre Dame." The beginning of "Out There" is also well-done, though Quasimodo's singing voice doesn't really fit to me. And "Topsy Turvy" is great, but it drags on way too long (as a song, not as a scene).

I suppose it's just Tony Jay's brilliant performance (as in anything he's done) that makes the soundtrack worth buying. Clopin's singing voice is the only other stand-out.

"Someday"was left out of the list, I think that is because you only hear it over the end credits. If I would rank that too it would come before "A guy like you" anyway.
It would have been better if Esmeralda had sung this for Quasimodo instead of that fake 'cheer-up'song from the Gargoyles!

The THoND soundtrack is one of my favorites...I love all the music, but I voted for "God Help the Outcasts"- I find myself randomly singing that all the time. I LOVE "Someday", and I'd probably vote for that if that was on the list- that's one of my absolute favorite Disney songs.

I knew what Frollo was singing about from the start. But that was because I was about 28 when the movie came out! :P

The Disney movies of my childhood -the new releases I mean of course- were "Robin Hood". "The Rescuers" and " the Fox and the Hound", all with intermission of some three-four years.

You kids of the nineties have been spoiled rotten with so many -good-animated movies and one (or more) coming out each year. Luckily I could enjoy them to as an adult!
