Ugh; well it's been almost 9 months now since the last Golden Girls release in the UK so time to get the imports I think.

Funny that Golden Girls gets announced today when I just finally got around to buying the fifth season set and am watching it now. Hopefully season six will include commentaries like this one did.

They aren't being release in Region 2 anymore. You can read more about that at @ccess the Golden Girls message boards.

Very good news! Hopefully they will have a group commentary. I also hope they do a signing in New York again. We might be going in November.

For The Golden Girls: The Complete Sixth Season, I'm curious if the bonus, A Conversation with the Cast, is newly recorded, or if it is older? If it is newly recorded, then it means Estelle Getty will not be included. At any rate, I'm just so happy to have this coming out on DVD. Now, only one more season to go! Having said that, I'm hoping they will really give us many more bonus features for Season 7, considering that there is so much stuff that they haven't included.

I'm VERY excited for the new "conversation with the cast" feature, which whether new or old, promises excitement. I wonder if this will be the Lifetime reunion special? Hmmm.

*Hopefully* commentaries will still be included as well.

Aw....disappointed yet again! HI was one of the only BV TV shows that kept a decent spine. Now they had to add Tim Allen again?! What about the kids? Different character per season!

TVShowsOnDVD now has the cover art posted for The Golden Girls:

http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6297

Personally, I like it, although Sophia and Dorothy need to be shrunk slightly. They seem claustrophobic in their spaces. The only thing is now Season Five's giant star artwork is now even more glaring than ever. All the other covers have separate spaces for each headshot. To be more balanced in the grand scheme of things, I would've preferred either Season Four to be the one with a single cast shot (since it's the middle season) or for Season Five to have individual stars for each girl to maintain the theme. We'll have to wait and see what Season Seven brings us...

Oddly, they mention that no bonus features have yet been confirmed by their sources. Where are you guys getting the "Conversations with the Cast" feature from?

I, too, like the cover art for Season 6. I don't like the images used for Blanche and Sophia, but, I can't be too picky. I'm just glad we are getting this classic television show on DVD, and pray that they will complete the series. I agree that it makes the cover art for Season 5 even more glaring.

To answer your question about the bonus feature, I'm getting it from the post on the front page, right here, at good ol' www.UltimateDisney.com !

Oh, whoops. My stupid cache was still showing yesterday's news on the front page when I went there today. Like Aaron said, whether it's an old TV special or a made-for-DVD featurette, it's sure to be a treat for us fans.

I too hope it is the Lifetime special, for the simple reason that the Lifetime show had bloopers and rare footage such as from the Emmys and the Royal Command Performance.
