So, ALL Anchor Bay releases will be gone, or just the ones that Disney is re-releasing? (prays for Something Wicked This Way Comes and Watcher in the Woods)

I think Disney will eventually release all their films that Anchor Bay had done, but it could take years. They might let MGM do some of those, too, but I think something that might have been risque to the Disney name is no longer an issue with them releasing Pirates of the Caribbean, for instance.

I can't even find any Anchor Bay releases at the store. Where can you acquire them?

I'm sorry I'm confusing so many people. Anchor Bay has released many Disney movies on DVD that Disney wasn't releasing (under strict supervision, though). These included Return to Oz, Something Wicked This Way Comes and Watcher in the Woods. Luke says that since Disney is releasing Return to Oz (among others) on DVD, the Anchor Bay counterparts will be discontinued. My question is, will the other movies like Something Wicked This Way Comes that Disney has not announced be discontinued at the same time, or later.

Thank you.

My answer still stands. :)

Poco, BestBuy should have some of them. I've heard reports of them being in $5.88 bins at Wal-mart, but having never been to one of those, I don't know. They are rather rare, as AB is a small studio.

I've seen Return to Oz and Something Wicked for under 10 in a couple of places.

Luke: So...is that a yes or a no?

Sorry, I wasn't really clear as to the 'when' - I do believe they're all being discontinued now...but that there's more stock of some titles than others, which is why Amazon still has some for sale. I think in a few months, they'll all be hard to find (that is hardER to find)...but that's just my educated guessing.

Europe and Austraila have just had a widescreen Black Hole DVD released by Disney themselves. So there's hope. Sadly, it's totally barebones, not even a trailer. This film deserves more.

Does anybody know if Candleshoe is a Anchor Bay production? If it is should I buy it because Disney may never release it under their name?

Yes, Candleshoe is Anchor Bay and Amazon is already out of stock of it:

(You can see all the Anchor Bay DVDs of Disney movies by clicking that link in "Related Products.")

Something Wicked and Return to Oz are still there.
