Wall-E - Pixar's next film (after Ratatouille)

LaughingPlace.com is reporting that the next film for Pixar, after Ratatouille, is apparently being referred to as Wall-E. It could be referred to as "Wally", or "Whale", depending how it is used.
After further investigation, a post at PixarPlanet.com states that this information came from a man who has worked on past Disney films, Bruce Zick. He stated that he has worked on this new film, W.A.L.-E., which could be the Pixar film released for 2008. I did a search of his name at imdb.com, and it states he was reponsible for visual development on The Lion King and Pocahontas, and was a set designer on Valiant.
Keep in mind, this is all rumor, as nothing has been announced by Disney/Pixar, but, it is a little bit of information that could prove to be something.

Isn't Toy Story 3 coming out in 2008.

It was supposed to back when Circle 7 was producing it. Now that Pixar took over (and they're re-vamping the story), a new release date hasn't been set yet. '09 was rumored, but nothing is confirmed.
W.A.L.-E, huh? Sounds interesting. I have no idea how I feel about it until I find out a little more about it. The name doesn't exactly give many clues.
A post on
The Disney Blogsays:
LaughingPlace.com has posted the name of the next film from Pixar after Ratatouille. How does "W.A.L. - E" strike you? Think this might be the rumored sci-fi script they've been working on?
Quick Batman to the Google cave. A search reveals Wal-e.com is the website of a printing company. However, a post on Newsarama claims artist Bruce Zick is working on a W.A.L.-E film at Pixar. So there's some validation there.

Cool! I hope Dory guest stars so she can translate it for us!
Thanks for the speculaltions! We need more Disney/Pixar whales! I'm all for saving the whales. There was a beached whale and her calf several days ago on the Jersey Shore and a bunch of good samaritins worked together to bring her and her calf back to the ocean.

according to Tim Allen, toy story 3 is "still on track". he did not say however when it was on track for, but I assumed it was 08 just as it was when Disney was still working on it.

Pretty sure that after Ratatouille is in fact Toy Story 3, which will see a release either the winter 2008 or the summer 2009. Then after that, I have a feeling it'll be another sequel- The Incredibles 2, which I remember hearing something about Brad Bird is already working on a first draft of, that'll probably be in for a winter 2009/ summer 2010 release, depending on when Toy Story 3 opens.

I can't imagine that
Toy Story 3 will be released after
Ratatouille. Bob Iger only announced that Pixar would be working on the film, this year. I assume that Pixar had at least one more film (if not two), in the works, for after
Ratatouille, before Disney purchased them.
I'm all for a sequel to
The Incredibles! That would be my dream come true, providing it is well done.

And providing that Brad himself does Edna, right?

Absolutely! In fact, it should feature much more of E!

I was watching my Cinderella DVD, and Pete Doctor (director of Monster's INC.) said that he was working on a new project. This could be it.

I think we can all agree on that
I really hope the whole "WALE" deal isn't connected to anything whale. It's not that I don't love Finding Nemo or Sharktale, but I think we've had enough underwater-tales for now.

What happened to "Rapunzel, unbraided"?
Wasn't that supposed to come after Ratatouille?

Yes, but it isn't a PIXAR movie. It is a Disney Feature Animation Studios movie.

I'm pretty sure former Simpsons director Jim Reardon will either be directing this or being heavily involved. In the audio commentary for a Simpsons episode, he mentions working at Pixar. The other commentors ask if he can give them a hint to as what he's working on, and he just says "2008."

What does everyone think about this? And does anyone know any info on this new film?

I too think that Disney should stick to 2D and Pixar to 3D and CG, but as to W.A.L. -E, I don't think that will be it's final title, kids can't really say to there parents ''I want to see W.A.L. -E'' it's sort of unpronouncable

Do you know what it is about? WAL-E? I also agree I want to see 2d animation back and judging from the article I think people may be getting a bit sick of 3d gd animation. I almost feels like these companies are trying to shove it down our thoats because they had a few successful 3d animations.
