I know that if you stay in a Disney World hotel, there is a chance to go into the parks an hour early on select days. Yet if you stay in one of the Disney owned hotels at Disneyland, can you go into the parks early like you can in Florida?

I'm not sure if it comes automatically with Disney hotel stays or not. I bought a 3 Day Park Hopper Plus when I was there and that came with 1 early entry to Disneyland. The early entry lasted one hour before the official opening and it allowed access to most (but not all) Fantasyland attractions and apparently a few other E-tickets in the other lands were open as well, though we stayed in Fantasyland the whole time. Disneyland's early entry program doesn't begin to compare to WDW's Extra Magic Hours (which is probably why Disneyland can't make up their mind about whether or not to even offer it), but it's definitely still a convenient perk.

Hated by cast members everywhere!
I just watched the Disneyland Vacation promotional DVD and they said if you stay at one of the Disney hotels, you'll get early entry to either park. Aaron, I'm guessing that by buying the hopper, you also got the priviledge?
I'm still waiting for the day that we actually take advantage of this the next time we go to Disney World. We only did it once this last trip b/c we wanted to go on Spaceship Earth before we left for the night. After that we were too tired to keep going. Lol, the line to get the EMH (not Emergency Medical Hologram, hehehe) wristband was longer than to get on Spaceship Earth.

When we went to Disneyland last November we had one early entry with our hopper ticket, problem is it is only done a few days a week and we stayed at one of the hotels outside the park, and we were taking the shuttle. The Shuttle does not start running early enough to take advantage of this perk so we lost out on our early admission, we got there maybe ten to 15 minutes early

Joe - I got one in March with my park hopper as well. I did not stay at a Disney property.

Just to add, at least one of the Hotels - the magnificent Grand Californian - opens directly into DCA. This means that if you are a hotel guest, you can skip the lines at the front of the park, as you enter directly into the Grizzly River Run section (from memory).
