I hate making a downer post like this, but I haven't been able to be online like usual because my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer last week. She went into the hospital with very bad back pain - she thought she had threw her back out - and it was discovered she has stage 4 cancer through multiple parts of her body. There's pretty much nothing they can do for her now, other than some radiation to relieve some of the pain in her back.
She's only 63 years old, and my family loves and needs her so much! My dad died when I was 9, so I really have nobody to help me emotionally.
This has been devastating, especially for me and my oldest son who's 10. I don't know how I'm going to get through this - I know I need to be strong for her. I've been sleeping with her every night in the hospital because she doesn't want to be alone. I called into work all last week, but I've been trying to work full days this week.
Anyway - please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We'll take anything we can get!

I will definately add you to my prayers. Make sure that you find someone that you can confide in though. It's important to take care of yourself during times like this, as well as your mom and the other people around you.

You are in my families prayers. You will get through it. I watched my grandfather, grandmother and father die two years ago. It will take time, but all will heal.

Sorry to hear about this, kbehm. I certainly empathize with your plight. Hopefully, you two are at least bonding under these trying circumstances. You both will be in my thoughts.

I will be sure to pray for you, your mom, and your family. God has a plan for all of us, so whatever happens to your mother, good or bad, there is a reason for it.
I hope that she gets well very soon.

I'm very, very sorry to hear this. My mom was only 56 and my dad was 68 when I lost them both to cancer so I know exactly what you're going through.
I'm not sure what I can say here except sometimes it helps to be able to relate. I know how hard it is when you have no one to lean on emotionally. I also remember the hospital stays, the treatments, the exhaustion. . . if you ever feel the need to cry or vent be sure to allow yourself the time to do so without guilt.
I wish you the strength to get through this. Both you and your mom are in my thoughts and prayers. . . if you ever need anyone to talk to just let me know.

I'm just back online now, after being gone on a leave of absence for three weeks.
My mom passed away on September 2nd. I was by her side throughout her illness, and was there when she died. I can honestly say I did everything I could for her, to make her situation as comfortable as possible. She died in a beautiful hospice - I can not say enough about the facility she was in for the last two weeks.
Now, to get on with my life without her. It will be very hard, but hopefully she's in a better place and not suffering anymore. I'm glad to be back at work. It takes my mind off of everything that's happened.

The Lord will welcome her into his arms. I hope you will recover from these tragic times, and know that the Lord is with your mom now, and he is the almighty Savior in our life after life.

You know the old cliche' 'time heals', well it is not much help now, but it is true. You may not realise it but you have been very brave & strong to be where your at now. Sometimes bad emotions such as guilt creeps in, if so it is false, a lie. You will get through this, we lost our 1st born child & other things that life throws at you, but God gave us the means to carry on, so dont rush yourself, just let time do its thing & we will pray you get the strength you need right now.

So sorry to hear about your loss, I can only offer prayer and these...
Mary Frye's Do Not Stand at my Grave and Weep:
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
Welsh Lullaby "Suo Gan": (English Translation)
Sleep my baby, at my breast,
'Tis a mother’s arms round you.
Make yourself a snug, warm nest.
Feel my love forever new.
Harm will not meet you in sleep,
Hurt will always pass you by.
Child beloved, always you’ll keep,
In sleep gentle, mother’s breast nigh.
Sleep in peace tonight, sleep,
O sleep gently, what a sight.
A smile I see in slumber deep,
What visions make your face bright?
Are the angels above smiling,
At you in your peaceful rest?
Are you beaming back while in
Peaceful slumber on mother’s breast?
Do not fear the sound, it’s a breeze
Brushing leaves against the door.
Do not dread the murmurring seas,
Lonely waves washing the shore.
Sleep child mine, there’s nothing here,
While in slumber at my breast,
Angels smiling, have no fear,
Holy angels guard your rest.
