Disney Computer Games

I like how Disney are handling their games at the moment - especially recruiting the original voice casts for the "next-gen" games. (Playing as Pete in "Disney Sports Skateboarding" is the only good thing about it).
Anyway as you may or may not know, it's E3 time of the year and here's a report on upcoming Disney games from Yahoo (the article as more details):
http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/030512/lam050_1.html
TRON 2.0, a story-driven, first-person action game inspired by the
classic TRON movie starring Bruce Boxleitner, Cindy Morgan and Jeff Bridges.
PC only.
SPYKIDS 3-D: GAME OVER plunges kids inside the cyber world of a video game in 3-D with their favorite spies Carmen and Juni.
GBA and PC (both with 3-D Glasses compatability!)
ALIAS
PS2 and XBOX
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN
XBOX, PC, GBA
TIM BURTON'S NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS Wow. This should be good as it's "Nightmare" and it's CAPCOM!
PS2 Only
LIZZIE MCGUIRE
GBA
KIM POSSIBLE: REVENGE OF MONKEY FIST
GBA
DISNEY PRINCESS ROYAL HORSE SHOW
PC/MAC
DISNEY PRINCESS CINDERELLA'S CASTLE DESIGNER
PC/MAC
BROTHER BEAR
GBA, PC
THE WIGGLES: WIGGLE BAY
PC/MAC
FINDING NEMO I've seen this in action on the XBOX, and it looks very good - not sure about the gameplay though.
PS2, XBOX, GC, GBA, PC/MAC
THE HAUNTED MANSION
PS2, GC, XBOX, GBA
DISNEY'S MAGICAL QUEST 2 STARRING MICKEY AND MINNIE
GBA
DISNEY'S PARTY Similar to Mario Party?
CG, GBA
DISNEY'S EXTREME SKATE ADVENTURE Let's hope this is beter than their Disney Sports Title. Hopefully it will being as it's from Activision, home of Tony Hawks
PS2, CG, XBOX
POWER RANGERS NINJA STORM
GBA
And the biggest news of all is saved for last:
TOONTOWN ONLINE, Disney Online's first massively multiplayer 3-D online game for kids, is an irreverent, ever-changing online world where Toons join together to defeat the evil Cogs -- a money-hungry mob of business robots that are attempting to take over Toontown. The adventures in this game involve flying pies, falling pianos, evil corporate cogs and thousands and thousands of Toons
Other Disney Games in the works include more 'Disney Sports' from Konami and possibly 'Kingdom Hearts' II and III.

That Toontown Online sounds interesting. I haven't seen the Tron 2.0 game yet, but the action figures for it are really nice. I may buy one or two just because they look cool.

More on the Nightmare Game from Animated Movies
Nightmare Before Christmas Video Game In Development
AICN's 'Greg Stacy' reports that this year’s E3 game developers conference in Los Angeles featured a life-sized Jack was perched atop a display featuring a video loop announcing an upcoming videogame based on Nightmare; the footage showed a few shots from the "This Is Halloween" number that opens the film, then it went into new footage of the Nightmare game, featuring approximately thirty seconds of the camera whirling through a remarkably faithful Halloweentown, past the Mayor and other characters from the film, before it ultimately zoomed in to focus on the grinning figure of Jack. Buena Vista Games marketing director Bob Picunko let slip that the game will not be based directly on the story of the film, but will be an original story set in the Nightmare universe. Asked if the non-violent adventure game would be pitched more at adults or kids, Picunko compared it to Kingdom Hearts, a game that he said was "appropriate for kids, but a 17-year-old also wouldn’t be embarrassed to take it home from the store." The game, which might feature some new songs by Danny Elfman, won't be released until fall of 2004, just in time for the Halloween season
Ooopps. I just wet 'em

Kingdom Hearts is one of my all time favorite PS2 disney games... and the preview for KH2 at the end of the credits (if you finish certain tasks in the game) is to die for. The only sad part is that I was reading a magazine article and they said that the guy who made KH is too busy doing other projects for the PS2 and probably won't be able to make KH2 right now, so it may not be ready until PS3 is here.
(Crossing my fingers for a launch title at best)

I'm not as interested in Kingdom Hearts sequels as I am for the original to come to the PC. We have a PS2 at our home, but it belongs to a relative who's moving out soon and taking it with him. I really want this game to come to the PC, or at least GBA/GC.

Nintendo.com says the game is 1 player and 64 MB in size.

I once emailed Square (before the game was released and before their merger with Enix) if Kingdom Hearts was going to come to the PC. They said they had no plans for KH to come to the PC platform. (This made me go out and buy a PS2 so I can now enjoy it)
And for the GBA/Gamecube...I don't think Tetsuya Nomura (the main man behind Kingdom Hearts) has any plans to release Kingdom Hearts for Nintendo. I read in a magazine that he became mad when someone asked him why he would release a "kiddy" game for the Playstation2 and not for the GameCube (being that GC is targeted mainly to elementary kids as opposed to the PS2 appealing to teenagers and adults).

If you're ever going to buy Computer Games, if you'd buy them through an Amazon link here, it'd really rock since it would count as a Non-Media purchase which would bump us up to a new echelon, where the affiliate percentage on EVERYTHING for the quarter jumps up a few points. Why are Computer Games considered "Non-Media"? I dunno, but the non-media requirements are always a struggle for us.
Anyhow, I do have the "Action 3-Pack" with Tarzan, Toy Story, and A Bug's Life...it's...okay. Tarzan is certainly the best graphic and design wise. You may resume discussion among the people who actually know things about Disney computer games now.

Right a quick update of this thread, with some of my comments:
Disney Sports Basketball
The most playable of the Disney Sports Series. But in all honestly that's not saying much. Plays like a mini-NBA Jam.
Finding Nemo
I cannot begin to say how wonderful this game looks (XBOX version played). It is incredibly close to the look of the film in places. Plays OK, but I'm having trouble with Nemo in the drains. Slightly disappointed, I was expecting a more "NiGHTS Into Dreams" type experience. But my Daughter loves it.
Disney's Extreme Skate Adventure
This is what Disney Sports Skateboarding should have been like. Plays like a dream. The Toy Story characters and locations are incredible. And it's even better now I have my own Disney soundtrack(s). For some reason I get a total brain-freeze when playing Jessie and grinding. It's he animation - I always think she's jumping. Does this happen to anyone else?

I've never had a Playstation or X-Box or whatnot...so I've only ever played computer games. But the Disney game I have is the Lilo & Stitch one, Trouble in Paradise. It's actually pretty fun. Not mind-blowing by any means, but if you like the film...and for some reason have some time off (I played this during my summer vacation from school), it's a nice, little game...but don't expect it to be really advanced.

Another comment:
Haunted Mansion(Xbox)
A good game with lots of imagination and some stunning graphical touches (I love the leaves blowing outside the windows, or the moths that gather round your lantern). Each room has a puzzle to solve and each solution requires a lot of imagination - either on your part to solve the puzzle or on the creators part. Wait until you see the games room puzzle!
Sadly, the poor camera system ruins the game - it's far to easy to take damage from things you cannot see due to the camera angles.

Ursala II is hard!
...That's why I just circled around the area--as far away from Ursala as possible, then I let Donald and Goofy defeat Ursala until she had only a little bit of HP, then I went in and defeated the last of her!

I know...that was a dumb idea...but it worked--and I swear that I defeated the rest of the bosses the right way!

Has anyone ever played The Emperor's New Groove for pc? It's hilarious! The graphics and the visuals and stuff arent great or groundbreaking, but David Spade's comments throughout the game are priceless "hey! this part was much shorter in the film"
