Just one word from me - DAMMIT!! :x

This is what Olivier has posted on his news page at Animated-Movies.com -

---------------------

All Good Things Come to an End...

I have had the greatest fun sharing animation news, insider information and rumors with you every day over the past two-and-a-half years! One of the best things about it was that I have been able to remain totally unbiased in my reports, since I worked outside the industry. One of the worst things about it was that my love for animation had to remain a hobby, not my career. So you'll understand my excitement when I was offered the opportunity, a few days ago, to promote animated movies for a living--and for one of my very favorite studios! However, this creates a conflict of interest that brought me to the decision to put Animated Movies on hold starting this coming Sunday, October 19, 2003 -- at least for the coming year. Make sure to enroll in the Animated Movies mailing list to be alerted when/if Animated Movies comes back up.

Animated Movies started out as a hobby during a bored summer when work was way too slow. The site, initially lost in cyberspace with little more than 30 visits a month, developed a larger following over time and is now getting more than 4,000 unique visitors a day. I feel very lucky that I was able to interact with so many of you, fans and professionals alike! Be confident that I'll invest the same passion and energy in my daily job, and I hope to make as positive a contribution to the animation industry from behind the scenes.

To animation!!

-----------------------

I think I'm gonna cry... Olivier's site was the best daily stop for animation news. I've seen everyone from casual fans to actual animators and industry insiders use snippets from his daily posts. Now where are we gonna go?! :(
Ughhhhh... my day just got about 10 times worse. I do wish Olivier all the luck at his new job, though - I wonder what "promotion" means, though - and who he's working for? Let's just hope it's literally Disney marketing - then maybe we'd get some decent cover art, for once!

Too bad.He gave us good info.Who knew "Swan Lake" was slated for '92,before cancelling it,because it seemed too much like "The Little Mermaid".

A great loss to the 'net community - especially for us animation-fan nutjobs.

And speaking of jobs, it is great that he got his "dream job".
Hope to be able to say thing about myself one day.

Maybe he's taking all the money he got from Amazon Honor System and moving to Tahiti? ;)

Sounds like he's working for the PR department of a studio. I'd guess somewhere like Disney, Warners or even Pixar. Good luck to him.
