On July 6, me and about seven friends are gonna go to the local theater and go see four movies. Then, at the end of the day, we're going to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 at midnight. We've been planning this for months and I'm really getting excited about it.

Have any of you ever done this before? Is there any kind of Game Plan you guys had when you did it?

Most I've ever done in one day is two and I've found even that can be a bit much to swallow, especially when one of those is <i>King Kong</i> (or <i>Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring</i>) directed by Peter "What is an Editor?" Jackson. And that has been the case with both of my two-in-one-day trips.

The last time I did two movies in a day was back in 2003 when I saw White Oleander and Tuck Everlasting. It's not hard for me to sit through several movies at a time, but it all depends on the quality of what I'm seeing. Unfortunately, both of these ventures were rather forgettable.

I've watched two in a row a few times, but never made a whole day out of it.

I have waited in line all day to get into a movie though.

My friends and I always wanted to do this in High School but we never ended up doing it. I have a hard time watching long movies, so to watch more then one movie at a time may kill me. I have to be able to get up and walk around and do something.

I'm gonna have a doubleheader on Friday (Cars and See No Evil) but I've never considered something like that.

Wow, sounds like I'm taking on a bold feat.... Either everyone here can't sit through more than two, or those who can never got around to it, most likely because it's so collosal.

I've always wanted to do that but I'm picky about the movies I see at the cinema. I'm lucky if I find just one that's worth seeing!

Yikes! Four movies in a row. I don't think you will last.

I'll definitely last. I've watched 5-6 movies in a car in 13 hours, so I think I can do four in the same time frame, then wait two hours to see POTC2. Plus, there will most likely be about 30-45 minutes inbetween each movie. We're still looking for the fifth movie, but we have the other four planned out. I'll post my plan later.

You'll be able to do it, but will you enjoy it? Watching multiple movies on a TV is a far less exhausting experience than in the theater, where it is just the movie (projected on a screen much bigger than you) and nothing else. Even with breaks in between, I think by the time midnight rolls around, you might be all movied out and won't enjoy <i>Pirates</i> as much as you would had it been the only movie you were seeing. But that's just my opinion and I'm sure if you really want to, you can avoid feeling that way. Now the question is - are you all going to pay for all these movies?

I've always wanted to do this... I think it sounds like fun. I think stamina wouldn't be an issue so long as the movies were all good, I had a group of friends with me, and I had plenty of refreshments.

I would also recommend scheduling it for a week other than the one you watch POTC, just so that you give it its own special, dedicated movie-going experience and don't run the risk of theater fatigue. Just my suggestion!

Yeah, one could easily get 5 movies for the price of 1 if they were clever with their movement and timing. I'm sure that happens all the time.

Yeah, that would be hard with forty minute breaks inbetween. I guess it depends on the theater's setup.

Not only have I done a full day, But I have done a full weekend about 10 times. From 5:ooPM Friday night till Close on Sunday night. I have done this when I had a part time job where I was called once every month or two and whould have to count everyone who saw a certin movie for the weekend. I had it timed where I could see every movie in the place some of them twice in a weekend, It worked out to about 5 movies a day

Well I've seen many movies back-to-back a lot. (In fact, when I got Pirates on DVD, I was so excited, I literally watched it 3 times in one a day, and watched again the day after it), but never in a theater.

It's something I'd like to try, but unfortunately, I have to consider time and money.

I've always wanted to do a big screen marathon, but sadly my friends aren't that much into movies like me. Oh well, as long as someone will tolerate my undying love for superheroe movies, I don't care!

It definitely does.

As long as you buy your tickets ahead of time it is possible to do a full day marathon in a movie theater. Don't get caught without a ticket, or your day will be ended abruptly.

As a projectionist, I could sit and watch movies whenever I wanted, but sometimes it would be interrupted by a reel change or one show ending and having to get things rethreaded and ready for the next showing. When I worked in a six-screen drive-in theater that was the hardest to do because you were always starting a movie or something and it seemed like I never got to really watch a movie all the way through.

Planned right, a movie marathon in a theater can be a fun experience. It's something that I haven't done in a long time, but, heck, I just might try to do it again before I get too old to enjoy the movies.

By the way, here in Wichita, it would be impossible for anyone to see a movie without paying, they have ticket checkers at each door, even in the 20-screen complexes.

Well, of course I plan on buying the tickets! I'm going to see the movie that aren't taking passes (Superman Returns and Click) in the day and the ones that are taking passes (Nacho Libre, Cars again) in the evening, and then use special voucers my dad got from work on Pirates. Altogether, I should end up paying about $7.00 for each tickets, probably $7.50-$8.00 for Pirates with the voucher. Plus about $20 on food, so I'll need roughly $60.00, which should be easy since I'm not seeing any movies with just my friends until then. I'll see Cars this Friday with my parents, so I won't pay jack-crap on anything.

If this goes down well, my friends and I have agreed we will do something similar in May 2007 with POTC3.

I would plan on spending more than that. Also dos your theater do free refills on drinks or popcorn, some do it on larges
