Hi Disney fans,
I have been a great admirer of this site for a long time. Sorry it took so long to contribute. I was in my local Walmart today and to my astonishment , the single editions of both Toy Story 1 and Toy Story 2 were priced at about $12.82 a piece. Since I haven't been able to find the dual set, I snatched them up. What I don't understand is on walmart.com T.S 1 is priced at $25.49 and T.S 2 at $23.88. For those of you who have not purchased these two great Pixar masterpieces, I hope this information comes in handy.

well, if I was you, I would have gotten the Toy Box set somewhere online. You would have spend about 20-30 dollars more, but in my opinion, gotten more for your dollar.

The third disc is awsome. If you as big of a disney/pixar fan as I am, or close to me, you'd probably want to get the toy box instead... the special features and the nice sound is AWSOME!

I know this won't apply to most people, but just a quick note to say that the Toy Story discs are not being withdrawn on May 1st in any other Region.

The withdrawl only applies to R1 discs.

I got 1 and 2 separately the other day when I saw them cheap.

Oh- thanks for the info on the disney 'classic' releases schedule (elsewhere on the site).

So which R2 titles are getting pulled in the next few months?

Wal-Mart is particularly bad about updating the prices of products on their site. For instance, while the first wave Vault Disney titles are now sold for $14.95 in Wal-Mart stores, their site still lists the price at $19.54.

Sadly, apart from the pre-publicised "Platinum" releases (which aren't labled as 'Platinum' in the UK) Disney UK doesn't announce when discs or videos are going out of print. It just happens.

so play.com 's sudden disney bargains may not be preemptive?

Disney UK has a "buy 2 get £10 off" offer on in the normal shops at the moment. You may have seen an advert for this on the television - it pops up occasionally. Like they do with most multi-purchase deals Play seem to be offering (close to) the £10 off when you only buy 1. (I think they offer £5 off their normal discounted price - which does make £10 off for 2)

If you're thinking of buying some now, I would snap them up while the offer is running. I took advantage of the offer recently to buy "Peter Pan" and "Return to Neverland" for a friends birthday (although that day is months away! :))

I'd go for the 2 disc Sleeping Beauty if you don't already own it!

Have Beauty and the Beast, Toy Story 1&2, and Mosters Inc.

Sleeping beauty may be excellent in terms of features, but the story didn't quite grab me when I last saw it. Waiting for Aladdin to come out.
