This looks kind of lame, but I don't know if I am strong enough to resist the lure of the words "Disneyland", "Haunted Mansion" and "DVD" used in this combination.

Perhaps I could film myself singing and dancing along and make it a regular feature of UD.com.

Yes, these three words (four actually, when you throw in "Halloween") spell out a likely purchase for me. Of course, that will depend on the review. Too bad there's no song list included in this, probably because they don't want to scare people off with its lameness. I could always look up the old VHS, I suppose.

Yeah the songs on the video are really lame. The songs on the video are:
It's Halloween
Five Little Pumpkins
Legend of Sleepy Hollow (Headless Horseman song)
Chicken Lips and Lizard Hips
Grim Grinning Ghosts
Five Little Witches
Spooky Scary Skeletons
Casting My Spell
Trick or Treat (not the same tune from the Donald Duck cartoon)
Monster Mash

The list, taken from the back of the video box, is not in the correct order as in the video. And seeing what the past Singalong Songs reissues have been like, I doubt there will be any new songs on this DVD. The video I believe is very hard to find now these days.

It still seems kind of silly to me for Disney to release these 30-minute programs on their own and charge $10-$15 for them, but I'm sure it's working for them. I know that several people bought <i>Disneyland Fun</i> through this site last fall and as that disc proved, 30 minutes can be pretty fulfilling. Though, this one being from 1998, there's bound to be less nostalgia and perhaps more oddities a la Flik's Musical Adventure at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I think I might get them both come release date of 'Halloween', but mainly for the nostalgia factor. I was hoping that the eventual release of 'Secrets, Stories...' would provide all of this and more, but it seems as though they are slowly cannibalising sing-a-longs and other bits and pieces from the once mighty Press Release. I know that this Halloween show may not have specifically been on 'Secrets, Stories...', but it could just as easily have been included on a 2-Disc special edition of the documentary, especially at only 30 minutes.

Ultimately, I'd rather pick them all up for $5 each or something, as the current RRP seems a little steep for a 30 minute sing-a-long (even one partially set in Haunted Mansion).

Do you actually get to see inside the Haunted Mansion?
Like the different areas in the mansion?
I dont particularly care for singing. or indeed children singing.
Or even random songs Ive never heard of!
( with the exception of Grim Grinning Ghosts that is)

From what I remember about the video, I think Mickey and the gang and the Sing-Along kids were having a Halloween party inside the Haunted Mansion. I have never been to Disneyland so I have no idea how different the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland and the one at Disney World are. In my opinion, most of the sets that are used don't look like they're from the attraction. Also the video is very cheesy. Only three songs from the video have clips from other Disney films. Merlin from the Sword of the Stone only makes a brief live-action appearence as he uses his magic to take the main kids of the video to Mickey's Toontown to go trick-or-treating. Don't be fooled about the location of the video because like I said earlier, most of the places that the children go to in the mansion are probably not real places in the mansion at Disneyland and were probably just sets created for the video.

In the review, there is a screen cap of what looks to me like a colorized version of "The Skeleton Dance." Is it? It looks crazy weird with the skeletons being neon green!

This sounds lame-ish in the way that the 101 Dalmatians SAS did, though not nearly *that* lame. Still, it's cheap at Wal-Mart and I'm a sucker for both Disneyland and Halloween so I'll probably get it and live to regret it. Either way, the review was well-written, informative, and quite enjoyable for the festivity-inclined viewer.

Nice review, Luke. The DVD looks a little pointless, though (as your review confirms), so I won't go buying it.

I just watched this movie for the 5th time...today...I love it! Though I would like to see more of Mickey and the other characters instead of the 3 kids it mainly focuses on. But, since its a kids movie and my kids enjoy watching other kids, I dont mind.

I had been looking for this movie for so long! I used to watch it when I would babysit years ago. I saw the dvd about a week ago at Target and had to buy it even though it was, IMO, expensive!

Also...little fact: Tyler Hoechlin (Robbie from 7th Heaven) is a main character in this movie when he was about 10 or 12 years old. Not as hot as he is now...but whos hot at the age of 12?

Tyler Hoechlin doesn't play Robbie, he plays Martin. Adam LaVorgna was Robbie, and I was pissed off when they dumped his character.

I've seen it at least five times since it release. My kids have seen like 10 times. They love it!!! That's the only thing that matters.
