Will Pocahontas II ever get "that" Special Edition

I read that Pocahontas II was suppose to get a "Special Edition" release with the "Original Classic" when it came out? What happened?

I was wondering this as well for many months now.

I also wonder if they will re-issue other Disney sequels like The Jungle Book 2 and Cinderella 2.

The Jungle Book 2 might come with the PE of the first one and Cinderella II, while not really ever needing to see the light of day again, might come out with Cinderella III next year. Pocahontas II is anyone's guess though when that would come out. Eventually is the best answer right now.

You never know. With The New World in cinemas, Pocahontas might experience a renaissance and go flying off the shelves.

Then we'll see a 3-Disc set!

Pocahontas II is not one of my favourite DTVs, I should say. Even though the real Pocahontas DID go to England, I just didn't get anything out of the sequel. Mind you, I'm no overwhelmed with the original either.

Pocahontas II's Gold collection edition isn't in the vault yet. So technically it's still been available all along. I ordered my copy from the disney movie club about 2 months ago, it's really not that bad.

Amazon Germany (Amazon.de) had a listing for a 2 disc Pocahontas II: SE up for a while, but it never arrived. This was around the time the 2 disc Pocahontas came out (remember it was out in Europe first).

I'm not sure what happened... perhaps the're was a miscommunication and it was really for a twin-pack of 1 and 2. I doubt it will get a 2 disc release, but an "upgrade" does seem possible at some point.

I really want a SE of Pocahontas II, so that it can match with my 10th Anniversary Edition of the orginial. I only have it on VHS, and the Gold Collection DVD doesn't sound that hot either, so I'm hoping on a re-release. Will it come? I hope so, but most likely, not.

Me too. I only have it on video tape and since I prefer DVDs, I hope they'll release a "remastered" special edition sometime soon.

Meh, i dont really care for a Pocahontas II special edition.
Though judging by the amount of users wanting one i think i underestimated how popular this sequel is. I actually always forget about there being a sequel for Pocahontas, maybe thats because it was done before Disney decided to churn them out every 3/4 months.

I was wondering the same! I have the gold collection version and the bloody film is not even in anamorphic WS! so it needs to be reissued as one! it's not a great film but I still liked it lol :)

I'm betting eventually it'll be released, but I don't know how many more years until it actually does.

Disney's already been re-releasing all the DTV sequels, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did a "Pocahontas II: Special Edition". I liked the sequel, so I hope it does.

Many sequels don't get Special Editions but Pocahontas should have gotten one. I was wondering why A Goofy Movie didn't get a Special Edition either.

Wow - am I correct in assuming that Pocahontas II is one of the well-liked Disney direct-to-video sequels?

Personally, I think this, along with every other single solitary Disney direct-to-video sequel for an animated film should be put out in a boxset, and then never released again until the blu-ray/HD revolution, when I think this same idea should be repeated only once. And then no more direct-to-video sequels should be made. Ever.

Come on Lazario! Bambi II and Kronk's New Groove were pretty decent. As was Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World. Sure they weren't as great as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, or the original Bambi, but they were still pretty good. I found some of the stuff that they put into these sequels to be pretty darn funny.

Well, whatever floats your boat. I personally like, or in some cases really enjoy, these so-called "cheapquels" Even if they are really stupid and boring.
