For those who didn't know her, she's the singing voices of both Princess Jasmine and Mulan. She is really a good singer. Her performance in A Whole New World and Reflection is wicked awesome! I'm a Filipino just like her, so I just want to tell everybody that she's having a baby...LOL

Having a baby can make a singing voice even better - so I heard.

At least there was talk about that a couple of years ago when my sister was having a baby - not that I'm really able to tell the difference, though...

She has a beautiful crystal clear voice. Let's hope she'll be the singing voice of another disney character someday.

Lea Solonga was also the original star of
Miss Saigon on Broadway in the early 90's, a performance for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical.

She should name the baby Jasmine if it's a girl.

You're definitely right about her baby's gender...it's a girl. Lea and Rob (her husband) already have a name for their first baby, but they don't want anybody to steal the name they planned so they won't reveal what the baby's name is. She said it happened to many of their relatives, so they advised Lea not under circumstances reveal the name of their baby. So, they're keeping it as a secret.
BUT there's a clue about the baby's name:
The baby will be named after one of her grandmothers; she's the first grandchild on both sides of the family. Rob's mom died of aneurysm a few months before he and Lea got married.

I'm looking for some Lea Salonga music videos at You Tube. I just can't stand that "Nick Lachey & Jessica Simpson A Whole New World music video." Same goes with "Christina Aguilera's Reflection music video." Luckily I found two videos.
The first one is the original "A Whole New World" recording session performed by Brad Kane and Lea Salonga.

The second one is a grand "Reflection" performance of both CoCo Lee and Lea Salonga during Hongkong Disneyland's Opening.

Kinda old news, but:
Tony Award winner Lea Salonga, who returns to the Broadway stage March 6 as Fantine in the current revival of Les Misérables, will head the cast of an international tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella.
A spokesperson for the Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization confirmed to Playbill.com that Salonga will play the title role in a summer 2008 tour that will commence in her homeland of the Philippines. Broadway Asia Entertainment will produce the tour, which will also play mainland China, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand. No other details about the tour have been announced.
Lea Salonga burst onto the London and New York theatre scene as Kim in the international hit musical Miss Saigon. For her performance, she was awarded the Laurence Olivier, Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle and Theatre World awards. On Broadway she was also seen in another Boublil Schönberg musical, Les Misérables, as the ill-fated Eponine, a role she would later repeat in the concert video of the musical. Her most recent Broadway appearance was in the revival of R & H's Flower Drum Song.
Featuring music by Richard Rodgers and lyrics and a book by Oscar Hammerstein II, Cinderella is based on the 1957 television special starring Julie Andrews. Directed by Ralph Nelson, the "Cinderella" TV broadcast originally aired on CBS March 31, 1957. The program drew more than 107 million viewers. The cast featured Andrews as Cinderella, Howard Lindsay as the King, Dorothy Stickney as the Queen, Ilka Chase as the Stepmother, Kaye Ballard and Alice Ghostley as the Stepsisters, Edie Adams as the Fairy Godmother, Jon Cypher as Prince Christopher, Robert Penn as Town Crier, Alexander Clark as the Captain of the Guard, Iggie Wolfington as the Chef and David F. Perkins as the Court Tailor. Lesley Ann Warren (1965) and pop singer Brandy (1997) starred as Cinderella in the subsequent TV versions.
Song titles from "Cinderella" include "The Prince Is Giving a Ball," "In My Own Little Corner," "Impossible," "It's Possible," "Gavotte," "Ten Minutes Ago I Saw You," "Stepsisters' Lament," "Waltz for a Ball," "Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful?," "When You're Driving Through the Moonlight," "A Lovely Night" and "The Search."

That's awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've liked "Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella" since I was little, when Disney would play the Lesley Ann Warren version, and then they made the version with Brandy....!!! I mean, I love Disney's own Cinderella more, but R&H's C is really great, too! And so is Lea!!! I'm so happy for her!

I remember the 1997 version with Whitney Houston and Brandy.

I don't really care for Lea's voice anymore. I think she had a great voice when she was younger, especially as Jasmine and Mulan. I still want her to continue doing those voices, but as "Enchanted Tales" proved... her voice has changed. I think there are more suitable singers from the Philippines to play the roll, but anyway... it sounds interesting!

Has anyone visited one of Lea's (singing voice of princess Jasmine) concerts in the USA and Canada, of her concert tour "inspired"?
I went to see the show and it was amazing. She did all her Disney stuff as well.
I would love to talk about it some more on here with others who have seen the show.
